Ok, I've been rolling this over in my mind for a long time and I want a lot of other opinions - I don't care how far fetched they are. From interviews and stuff like that, there seems to be an indication that Neo is going to die. Like, Keanu said "The first movie is about birth, the second one isabout life, and the third one is about death." If anyone has evidence supporting a death or contrary to death (PLEASE contrary), then could you all voice your opinions? Personally even though according to the religious kind of outline Neo has to die in the end and "learn what personal sacrifice means," I think it would be kind of mean to jerk everyone around for three movies and see Neo die/not die and Trinity die/not die for Neo to just keel over in the last one.
So, OPINIONS PLEASE!!!

It's really hard to speculate on that! I think Neo may die, but that opens a whole other slew of questions about the nature of death. So I think, given the title "Revolutions", there will be a huge change in something... related to Neo maybe?

well, as said in other posts, this movie might be about the Bible.
There are a lot of Religous undertones. If Neo is "Jesus", birth, life and death would fit.
I think choice of names is interesting also. Trinity, meaning three in one. Morpheus, changing into something else. And Persephone meaning, in Greek mythology, deciever. Any thoughts???

neo is definitly reffered to as the messiah in the Matrix so it would definitly fit if he would die. I bet that he sacrifices himself to destroy the Matrix

I think that he was supposed to die in the second one by the orcales prediction. She said that he would find the source of the Matrix or something like that and he would die saving Zion. Something like that I am afriad I don't remember it is in the second movie, which is a kick ass movie. But then agian he did save Zion so who knows? I know one thing for sure, if Neo or Trinity dies the other will also. As Neo puts it in the second movie," I can't let go. I love you to damn much." So no matter what happeneds if one of them die then they both die. So I just hope that they don't die.

I think that neo will die and become a "martyr" for the "revolution" but it is a movie so it iwl probably have a happy ending

There are a whole ton of threads on Neo in relation to a christ figure. If he is, then the movie comes to a certain level of predictibility (tho obviously it isn't, as indicated by all of the ifs) - who says, even if he is a christ figure and there are a hundred biblical allusions, that the rest of the story is going to stick to the bible? It would almost be more of a *boink* at the end if he DOESN"T die
(almost . . . not quite)

Certainly there are some ties to Judeo-Christian stuff, but the W brothers are certainly into Eastern religions too. I think our ability to predict what will happen next is totally shot too, because what we thought we knew came from the Oracle and she's just a program (who appearently is gunna die, if that French program is any indication.)
The last one is about death is the most heard quote from the actors. Hopefully there is a lot of symbolic death, death of Smith, death of the Matrix and death of the control of the machines (be it the Architect, the Oracle or the agents.)

that Neo will die.
But there is no Neo. Why? Because the Matrix is a reality created by the humans to control the robots. After the robots take over the world, the humans need a way of controlling the robots. They know that a nuclear blast won't destroy them, and that shrouding the planet would destroy themselves. So they infiltrate and somehow reprogram the robots to think that they are harvesting the humans, and to think that they've created a Matrix for the humans, and to think that Neo escaped, and to think that they will kill him. The whole reality of the robots is a fabricated one. "To an artificial intelligence, all reality is virtual".
This alternate reality is the only thing that enables the human race to survive. It explains everything.

Morpheus does not mean to change into something else, although his name may be a play on words of such a thing.
Morpheus is the name of the Greek god of dreams.
