Hmm......It's a bit hard to vote for the Matrix as a trilogy when we've only fully seen two-thirds of it. I'm not a Star Wars fan either, so my vote went to Tolkien the best trilogy commited to paper ever, IMO. Plus if you managed to finish it and look beyond, there's reams of paper devoted to telling the history of the history of Middle Earth and it's inhabitants. I see it not as a story, but as an alternate history, the way it was written.

I'm not going to choose either one of them cuz the LOTR was really messed up on film but the books were freakin brilliant! And the Matrix was planned (refers to the movie was planned) with similar anime blueprint (as in the frames) besides you can't compare FANTASY and SCI-FI! those are two diff genres...thats like comparing a novel to a comic book...well in my opinion its like that metaphoracially (sp?) )

Given the on-screen time constraints that Peter Jackson has, he's done a great job. Condensing 7 hours(how long it takes me to read each volume) into just over three is no easy job. I't why i'm grabbing all three movies on extended dvd.
Another point of mine is, and I blame this again on the time constraints, is Shelob. The natural cliffhanger at the end of the first film has been lost, and I fear that the third film will simply run out of time to bring things together properly. I mean, and there are *PLOT SPOILERS* beyond this point, look what's gotta be covered in 3 hours in the third film.........
Shelob.......Frodo's imprisonment
Siege of Minas Tirith
Frodo and Sam's trek across Mordor
Arwen/Aragorn wedding
Saruman and the Ents
the whole journey back again
Men in the Shire
......and sailing into the West
quite a lot to be done.

yeah Shelob was not featured in the two towers like she (i think that spider is a she) messed with frodo and sam in two towers but will be featured in the return of the king but he edited out one of the best chapters...damn

the lotr's is tight the first time you see it, but it gets boring as hell by the 3rd time. if not the second.... i loved the two towers, but i bought it on dvd, and watched it, and fell asleep with bordom.
i choose the matrix.

hey Lord of the rings isnt boring...even after the 34th time in my case... hahaha you will learn to apreciate The Lord of the Rings more after READING THE BOOKS! Don't dis Lord of the Rings cuz Tolkien is cool ^___^ hahahah
