I started thinking about this and decided to type it up. Hope you enjoy it...

When I awoke this morning, it felt like a normal day. But then, what is normal anyway? Average, usual, ordinary, the same… Or is it just what we expect of certain things? It’s a ‘normal’ day when we wake up and the sun has risen. It’s not ‘normal’ to wake up and there not being a sun… Or, at least that’s how you would define a ‘normal’ day. You have always had sun, right? There’s never been a day in your life when the sun just decided not to rise, right? Consider yourself lucky. I have never known the sun. The real sun anyway. The sun hasn’t been shining for a very, very long time. I’m glad. I hate the sun. The sun’s the reason why everything was destroyed. The sun is the reason machines went after humans. The sun gave them life first. Hammal says I’m wrong. He says that humans are to blame because we chose to play God. I don’t know. It’s hard to blame your own species for destroying itself.

thanks Mac! I don't always think like that, actually I rarely do. I just get into a character and write what they would say. A new installation of My Log is coming!

I've noticed how different my shipmates are from each other, yet they still get along. For example, Hammal prays to Allah everytime one of us has to get 'jacked in', while Nymph quotes the Torah on certain occasions. Guess what? Those two have been a couple since the day they met. i don't see how people could possibly believe in God anymore. During the time when AI took over, you don't think people prayed? You know they prayed. they prayed to Allah, to God, to Buddha, to Muhammad, to the Saints, to everyone. Religon served them well, didn't it? To me, there is no God. God is dead. I remember hearing something in the bible about even if things get bad, you should believe that God is with you. Well if God's with me, he'd better get off and find someone else to comfort. I don't need any help from the guy who abandoned us.

Lost one today. Not my first and certainly not my last. Kid by the name of John. Oh well, I guess with a system name like that, how could you not see it coming? He had blond hair-or maybe it was brown, I try not to care- and was tall. When Napster and Hammal brought him into our safe house, I could already see that this kid's favorite color was blue, if you know what I mean. But, I gave the speech, just like I did to everybody else. Well, not THE speech, but a speech. I try to have a different speech for every potiential.
I told him to have a seat. He gladly did. I paused for a moment, then sat down across from him in a similar postion(humans are more comfortable with a person who is more like them, even with the way the sit, stand, and walk).
"John, have you ever read 'The Taming of the Shrew'?" I asked. He said he hadn't. What are they teaching in those schools? 'The Taming of The Shrew' is a classic Shakespearean. Anyway....
"Well, it starts out where this homeless bum gets a joke played on him," I said, "See, basically, these people fool him into thinking that he's really a rich noblemen, and he's been crazy for the last few years. He fell for it," I explained rather briefly.
"Did he ever find out the truth?" John asked.
"Why should he bother to? I mean, first he was a poor son of a...gun, now he's rich and can have whatever he wants," I said, hoping the kid would bite.
"Yeah, I can see what you mean..."he said slowly. My heart fell. This was not going well.
"Do you think he should've been told the truth?" I asked. John thought for a minute, then said, "Well, you now what they say. 'Ignorance is bliss'."
I looked over at Napster, Hammal, Nymph, and Heart. We were all thinking the same thing: John wasn't going to be waking up anytime soon.
I took out the silver case with the two pills: Blue and Red.
"You take this blue pill, you stay the rich noblemen who thinks he's recovering from maddness," I said to John, "You take the red pill, you you can find out what truth lies behind those hallucinations. It's your choice."
John sat there for what seemed like hours. But, eventually, he took the blue.
Napster and Heart took him back to his house. They had some agent trouble, but they made it home okay.
Oh well, there's always tomorrow....
