I thought I would start a poetry thread on this forum because we have a few poets in our group.

I 'll start off:
Life

Life is what?
Question the
reality of dreams.
Through floating
past the present
- we -
present the past.
Floating through
dreams of reality.
The question?
What is life!?

When I see you...

my heart trembles,
my lips burn,
my skin longs for you touch.
Time stops
the clouds clear,
and all that remains is you.
lost without you.
helpless with you.
i am dying of such a love,
or so it seems to me...

yes, my LOVE wrote that poem for me. i have 3 or 4 more poems that were written for me also. i may post another one.... i dunno know, because they mean a lot and are very personal . i can't wait to hear more poems from others! thanks again for the compliment!

here is another poem written for me by my LOVE. it is my favorite poem...

As my world falls down around me,
I can see only you.
Leaving me to feel
As if I've nothing left to do.

Should I die tomorrow,
I would feel only bliss.
Because I know you loved me
I could feel it in your kiss.

I know sometimes it seems
There is nothing but pain.
But let me wrap my arms around you,
And shelter you from the rain.

I can never promise you sunshine
For the rest of your days.
But I will always be by your side
Through the sunshine and the rain.

In the early morning light,
Waking up is so hard to do
But always remember this simple thing:
Today, I will love you....

The Street's.

..livin life rough violence is at a high--kid's acting tough....
..first to bluff--only to increase volence--when's enough...
..choke and puff-pride broke and cuffed-- no motivation...
..pain of slow frustration--mentallity's below education....
..mind's wanting explanation but where's the leader's.....
..book's with no word's are pointless for the readers.......
..thug's attacking with no remorse life's a hard tumble.....
..emotional guards crumbled--not one showing humble....
..hatred twisted like jungle vine's peace only decline's......
..action define's when hatred increases & lonely combine..
..confined to low budget and crack--satisfied with change..
..strong word's exchanged only to be viewed-myth range..
..strange but the street's are addicting and kids addicted...
..pain conflicted from a shadow that will never be convicted..
..the wise predicted change only to see mental hatred evolve..
..opportunity is near but it's up for us to solve____________

Part One

I've never said

'Cos we fight
As night follows day

I only intended it as fun
Not meant to be vicious
It was only play
There's something that i'm dying to say
That in this ****ty little rhyme

Here as friends

Part Two

I hope you'd never hate me so
Then I'd really have to go
I've never told you before now
I'd really have to be a cow
To end this happiness I see
Played out here in front of me
It would be mean
It would be cruel
To end our friendship here now, fool

They have said
Your name it resounds
Through my head
If I make you sad
And that's what I dread
The next day you will hear of me
Dead.
It's a choice I have to make
With really too much stuff at stake

Part Three

I sent you a text
To give you a warning
I really should feel better
In the morning
I got drunk
I had a few
But I believe that you did too
I'm buzzing now as I write this

My predilection now to write
Is as much as my one to fight
You know I like being right
The world is starting to spin now..................

Part Four

FAT CHANCE!!
I'm gonna do a drunk dance
Between stagger and prance

I send condolences in the end
For myself I fend
As my perceptions bend
All this out in one big go
My vocabulary needs to grow
Four pages now
Nearly five
Need to keep writing to
Keep me alive
For perfection I strive
Into darkness I dive
Now
Further along the road
My heavy heart has been towed
I flow like that rain flowed
Do you see me lying??
Looks like I'll be crying
When I write this into a tome
When I get home

Part Five

This thing is making me turn to drink
I need some time to stop and think
Pages One through Four were on the bus
I swear but now I've yet to cuss
Is this due to be love unrequited
To burn
Something else you lighted
Or lit
Oh ****
I'm at home now
On my bed
My mind's from music
To this instead
Your name resounding in my head
Rebounding in my head
These words never to be said
Maybe I just need a place for my head?

I often told myself we could be
More than just friends
I know that if I pushed it now
It would all end

Part Six

Got drunken already
All light airy and heady
I'd best be steady
I'd never be ready
To be hit by a car
Much rather be propping a bar
I'm not that drunk
Just clearing my head of junk
Haven't chucked up a chunk
Yet
Would you like to place a bet?
Peas, carrots
Maybe both
I made Darren swear an oath
He knows
I told him
How I feel
Trying to check this
Am I real?
The thing with D is
He'd never tell
I know him far to well
If he told

Part Seven

This is the longest poem I've ever written
It's stupid me being this smitten
It takes a lot just to hide
What is boiling up inside
How many months have I lied?
I was on Three
Now I'm on Seven
Will you drag me up to Heaven
From Hell
What would you have me sell
My arm, my car
My pint of beer
I'll never be able to face this fear
Enough's enough
You've had your fun
I'm the Molotov cocktail one
Emotional, primal, scarey Clarey
Definitely not dressed as a fairy
More like getting drunk and lairy
Dangerous, volatile
You disarm me with your smile
Maybe I can wait awhile
Like a freshly beat up paedophile.
