I was shuffling through the topics here and had a "revelation" of sorts... The powerplants in their entirity can be compared to the combined consciousness of humanity as one being. The machines have tapped that power, basically creating the original adam, the original state of human consciousness, as one being.

But Neo is in effect being the sacrificial "Jesus Christ" in the respect that he is putting it upon himself to be the saviour of the world.

e.g The Agents, instead of fighting the humans under their control, are fighting Neo, In their place, as Neo has the weight of the world on his shoulders (he is the soul saviour of humanity, the only way they are going to be saved from the machines)

He is "saving" individuals. Ie splitting them off from this "ADAM" consciousness, and taking them to Zion: The "City of Peace" or the "Promised Land" As he saves more from the consciousness "ADAM" (the powerplants) more individuals will be brought to Zion, hereby living out their lives, in the promised land.

Any thoughts on the idea?

For real life or the matrix. Your choice. Do you think we're degenerating back to one consciousness? And the reason Neo/Jesus Christ and Rebellion/Christians are alive are so that this doesn't happen?
