How do these guys not rule the world???
Unforgiven?
Unforgiven II?
St Anger?
Whiskey in the jar?
I only recently truly discovered Metallica and I am truly ashamed of my terrible ignorance.
James Hetfield has to be second only to David Gahan in terms of being a god-like vocalist and superb front man. The only down side to Metallica that I have so far found is Lars Ulrich.
Opinions anyone?

Why is Lars the only downside? Is it because he hated Napster and eventually forced you to have to pay for your music?

No, I actually do pay for all my music funnily enough. Ordered St anger, master of puppets and reload from Play.com.
I didn't know about napster till today when I looked it up on Wiki. I guess I took up a negative view of him because of a Metallica documentry I watched, he came off as an ass in my view.
Eon, I can see your point. It's very, unchained and rough. I liked that though, reminds me kind of It dies today or one of the other smaller bands. I liked the energy I got from the album, a passion to succeed. It did take a few listens though I will admit.

Oh hell yes, Fuel with a full orchestra is fricken amazing...though I'm fond of their self titled album.
And it's not the sound I have trouble with RA, it's the fact it is nothing like all of their albums in the past and isn't Metallica to me...though I think it was a different bass player which probably didn't help.

A few things here:
1) I was getting free music long before Napster, I am still getting free music long after Napster. Anyone who wants to "pirate" music but pays instead because Napster is no longer free is simply retarded and should die.
2) You "just recently" discovered Metallica, list some of their worst work ever, and then ask why they don't rule the world? Go get And Justice..., Kill Em All, Ride the Lightning, then tell me that you are a Metallica fan. As far as I am concerned, everything after the Black album is mainstream garbage.
3) Metallica pretty much did rule the world, back when MTV played music videos and and it took more than being pretty to be a music star.

I agree with you in that MTV is worth as much nine pound note.
I have ride the lighting and kill em all already (Thr four horsemen and Metal militia kick ass)- A friend gave them to me. They're good albums but from what I've heard I prefer St anger, Master of puppets and Reload.
I'm stating what I like, as far as I am concerned there's no such thing as mainstream garbage, just good music and bad. Besides at one time or another everything becomes mainstream, circle of life.
