Terrible Choices:

-Become a vampire. You live a might long time (centuries), you have enhanced strength and healing, some hypnosis power. But you have an allergy to garlic and if you're out in the sun without sunscreen GGPO. And you have to drink blood. If you have kids they will be born vampires.

OR

-Become a Highlander-styke immortal. At the same time you are given the gift, 10,000 people across the world get it too. You have eternal life, but eventually you will meet someone who will want to kill you. They can tell (and you can too) when another immortal is around. A endless life, but one that you always have to watch your back. Also, you can't have children. And you only become immortal after you die, so if you die at 50 you'll wake up a couple days later frozen at 50 potentially forever.

When you put it like that, if I only had two choices, definitely a vampire. I would only reside in the slums of U.S.A. and prey on the scum of society where ever and whenever they strike. You know the freaks come out at night. Yeah, vampire sounds WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than wetting the bed at night. Vampire for me!

Yeah, umm, when was it ever mentioned that I had to drink human blood. How many good vampires dont. As an immortal (eg. highlander) you have to kill people. Vampires can live off animals.
