I was thinking about happiness and i thought is happiness decided by external or internal factors?or a combination of the two?EG:the external factors effect you internally.
I find my happiness is decided purely by external factors like friends and family and stuff i have to go through everyday, for me the internal never really seems to come into it,anyone got any thoughts on the matter?

RA, I think sometimes, It is a matter of both. I don't rely completely on others to make me happy though. You need to be able to make yourself happy. Take pride for instance. Pride in an accomplishment. That can internally make you happy. You have spoken about your weight issues. Well, If you loose some of the weight won't that make you happy? That would be an external thing that would make you internally happy. Hense, pride in yourself. I am proud of myself for standing my ground against all that may try to knock me down. I am a single mother raising a child, going to school to further my career, working, and keeping a place up myself. I am also a loyal friend once you get to that status with me. Yes, Some things others do can make me happy but, I don't rely on them.

I think both affect each other anyway, so it would be misguided to seek out only one.
If you're uneasy with yourself then it would change the way you are percieved and treated, and on the same token, if everybody around you is making you miserable, you're bound to feel a little uncomfortable about yourself.
I think one of the requirements for happiness is that they both cooperate and not contradict eachother. It's all about the combination.

People around you, factors about can only create an environment in which you feel happy. Eventually it is you who is feeling happy or not. Hell can be heaven and heaven can be hell.

Internal. Happiness is a state of mind that starts with the way you look at everyday things and how you want to feel.

Everything in this world is what you make of it, nothing more nothing less. If you decide to say screw it and just be happy with whatever situation your in and have good time then that is what you will do. There is no reason to let anything else effect your happiness, though most people are weak enough that something does.

I've come to a happy realization. No matter what you do in life, it will never change. It might seem new and exciting, but its not. There's no point to our existence. We are stuck in a cycle of nothing. Hooray for death.

Can't you all tell my happiness is internal?

Haxxor... there are some worthwhile things that are never the same. Sex is one of them ;-)
Anyway, you're wrong about the "life never changes" comment. It changes all the time...nothing is static that's the beaut of it

Love is one thing that I think always changes, but always stays the same. The word love is a made up word. In my mind, it is a deep bond of fondness and attraction towards someone. In my heart and emotions, its an
unexplainable feeling. My happiness is internal.

However, what I was refering to is that in the solar system, and galaxy, we have only conquered one planet, and now we fight over which nation owns it. We fight over land, and differences of opinion, not expand into space, and encounter new life, which does exist, too damn big for just us.

Biochemically speaking love is no different than consuming large quantities of chocolate.

Why don't we find out together? You consume a lot of chocolate, and I time how long it takes you to vomit. Deal?

*Squaredances for no reason*
