Well, it has an extreme purpose. A basic purpose, nay, a dire purpose for your survival in a battle and in the RPG itself. The Elements are as follows and their stats are as follows:

Yes, it matters in battle. If you're Water and the person you face is Wind, they are going to be stronger than you. It's a silent struggle.
