Basically, this means that if you spam, troll or flame, you are not obeying the rules. Concidering this is a privately owned board, it's also quite rude to disobey the rules. It's like going to someone's home and purposefully throwing a vase on the ground.

I have been put in charge by the owner of this site, to assure no one throws vases on the ground. Thus, I am put in charge to make sure no one spams, flames, trolls or does other illegal activity. I do this along with the other moderators and administrators here at MM.

Spam has been overflowing from the 'spam'-threads to other threads, and to be absolutely clear about it: I have had it. I do not mind short replies, nor do I mind the person above you game. What I do mind, however, is spamming the PAY (Person Above You) thread, or using the "Crew Lounge"-thread as a post-count-enhancer.

What does this mean for you as a member? Nothing at all. You can just keep posting, without problems in a consequence-free environment. There is the small exception, however, that if you break the rules, I will assure that you feel the consequences.

I, personally, will be focusing on spam-messages, flames and trolling posts. This includes, but is not restricted to the Politics Section, the Person above you thread, the Crew Lounge, and other threads. I, of all the people, encourage you to post your opinion. I encourage debate and discussion, and I love debating myself. Still, I have the honest conviction that this is not possible in a board filled with spam.

I hope you will share your views in this thread in a friendly, constructive matter. Spam, flames and trolls will be deleted.

Well said, my friend. I too have had it with the mindless drivel called 'spam', the provoking of members, and a few certain members that get over-zelaous with their RP posts. I don't mind the occaisional off-topic remark, but too many and it becomes hard to discern what is being said for the ACTUAL topic.

My threat in the Person Above You Game is not empty. Truly, if one more person says repeats the same context as the person above them, the thread is being closed.

I am going to be as vigilant as HU on this one. There is absolutely no need for this kind of stuff. We can all have fun and be merry... without spamming it up or flaming it up.

I also leave the interpretation of the rules in the moderators hands, and they are moderators because they show the ability to discern whether they need to act or not. If anyone has ANY problems with this new policing policy (heh), feel free to PM me, or at the bottom of the home page, click 'Forum Leaders' and PM any one of the forum moderators. They'll be happy to answer you.

One of the strengths of this forum has always been the quality of its posting members, be it in the matrix related topics, cultural or political stuff or the area where I feel this forum is so strong, the fan fics and missions.

It has been disappointing of late to see certain individuals eroding the high standard of discussion and work exhibited here. Its great to see that the staff are doing something about it and I want you to know that your hard work is appreciated.

I'm glad you guys are cracking down on this. If I resort to any such activity, please PM me and chew me out over it. I fear that I to spam from time to time (I don't mean to, of course, I just get into the mindset that this is like a chatroom, which it isn't).

PP honey, when on earth have you ever spammed? I know what you mean, though we are all guilty of what your saying from time to time. It's only natural, and we always stay in context and let others know we are about to go 'off topic' for a little while to respect the origional thread starter. It's all about common courtesy for others. And you sweety always show it. Not to mention common sense.

However, too many times I've seen good members discouraged from either posting or posting something they have worked long and hard on in theories for fear of either being ridiculed by 'one word wonders', or their thread filled with utter non-sense and garble. I've deleted posts in the past due to spam in our beloved fan-fics and theories sections, and will continue to do so. It will not be tolerated in any way shape or form. Same goes to flamers. The rules are there for a reason, to protect you and others. So abuse the rules, and basically you are gone.

Here I am, raising both hands high on this matter. Now, keep in mind, even the best of us may spam at times. As of late, it's been getting completely ridiculous. Yes - There are spam-like threads created, so aren't we contradicting ourselves by cracking down on spam, while allowing such threads to continue?! No! Not at all. The 'spam' that goes on in the PAY thread, movie review thread, video game review thread, and the like are acceptable. What is NOT acceptable, and is really just plain idiotic, is when I click "New Posts" and find posts like:

- "^ Said X" (X being exactly what the person above the poster stated)
- "^ Thinks X"
- "^ Wants to X"
- "Never saw the movie." (That's fine and dandy! I couldn't care less! The point is to review the movie, not tell us if you've seen it!)
- "Never played the game."

I mean, Jeebus. Kiss those threads goodbye if it continues. Addressing N-2:



I believe we're rather lax on the rules. Ou Be was banned after much grief, then even allowed to return after his first banning. Names which shall go unsaid have been allowed to continue posting after much spam. Goodbye threads go unscathed, and posts are rarely deleted or censored. You seem adamant on your position about allowing such blatant spam to go on, unpunished, in the PAY thread. What I must ask of those who oppose, though, is this: What is the FUN in posting EXACTLY what the person above you said? You get one post count, and one point, but was that fun? Perhaps to an infant who's easily amused. I, on the other hand, would much rather read the post below me say something like "^ Wrote a great fanfic," "^ Kick ass new banner!" "^ Kind, benevolent admin," or "^ Incompotent fool, but ya still gotta love him." Get creative, instead of posting mindless drivel.

Personally, what drives me beserk is the spam in the RP section. I seem to remember (that or my memory is failing) that the Neb RP died on the account of the fact that people came in and said "Don't kill the Olsen twins!". The Crew Lounge... I don't even want to go there.

Now, I can't see I'm completely innocent here, cuz I'm not. I've spammed in my day. However, THUMBS UP TO THE STAFF!!! =D Keep up the awesome work.

Also, just one thing that is a concern of mine, would be, the increase in "Robotic" threads, by that I mean, it's fine that we have a BOT within our grounds, and the thread where we can mess around with him, but I don't really see the point in user's creating threads which kind of follow this action.

Im my opinion, it just seems to create more spam, obviously it's not such a problem at the moment, but it could escalate.
