Well then ladies and gentlmen, in this Thread you'll be invited to discuss my experiences with my Pre-Order of The Matrix Online.
For security reasons it would be appreciated if only those who have pre-ordered the game read this post. (although it's hard for me to stop you if you didn't right ;P )
Here I'll be posting the events from the time of my Pre-order, to the reiceiving of the game, it's installation and it's performance on my computer along with information on how the beta "plays".
If by chance the EULA says that I can't talk about these things, then I guess I'll have to abide by the rules and stop this thread, but until then let's share the experience .

With unchecked rage I slammed the phone to the receiver and cursed. Oh yes, I was mad. You see, yesterday, September the 13th, I took a 4 hour trip to Calgary and back from the small mountain village of Canmore in which I reside in order to pre-order "The Matrix Online". To me bewildered disbelief I was informed that the Electronics Boutique in the Chinook shopping centre had NOT received any "pre-order" boxes but I nievely decided to pre-order regardless and perhaps return for the package in the near future when they would receive it. Unfortunately I found out just a few hours ago that I can't do that. I can't do that because as the EBGames costumer service representative accurately put it: "You'll have to order online" So, here I am with a receipt worth 1 copy of The Matrix Online at $69.54 CAN. that is pretty much USELESS to me, who is interested in getting the "Bonus" package.
My next move was to emediately call the EBGames in the Chinook center in order to find out if I'm able to somehow rectify this injustice. The line rings a few moments and the crackling voice of an overburdened EBGames sales rep slides over the long distance telephone line with the amazing rate of 30 cents a minute. ( I called juring daytime hours obviously). "Hello EB Games, Lauwrence speaking how can I help you?" I emdediatly felt like pulling a line from "Full Metal Jacket" -> "Lawrence? Only faggots and sailors are called Lawrence, are you a faggot Private?" but with great will I restrained this urge and began my conversation. "Hi my name is Edgar Sylvestre - 'just then I thought about how trivial it was for me to introduce myself, but hey, I guess politeness pays off in some ends.-' and I recently pre-ordered The Matrix Online but according to customer service at the head branch, I can't get the pre-order with the bonus from within the store." So to make a long story short and to somewhat refrain from repeating myself (I just failed in that attempt) The guy blatently put it as "you gotta cancel your order and re order online" which means I have to take another grueling trip to Calgary to retreive my moocho's from their dirty fingers and order The Matrix Online via the Internet.
I'm not sure how you guy's prefer this but I certainly don't like spending 30 dollars in fuel to get a game, then spend another thirty dollars in fuel to return it. Hey look on the bright side: I can use the 60 dollar refund to pay for the gas and still have nine extra bucks to buy a sturdy peice of rop with which I can hang myself with!

The last few numbers entered the "Credit Card Number" box as I began the end of my journey to pre-ordering The Matrix Online.
With a few more clicks and a hefty shipping and handling+duty charge, which I'm sure will be completely worth it, I ended the painstaking objective of paying for the game, and then thought a second about the men receiving that money.
----- FedEx Loading dock -----
"Ok this one's going to Canada, here Jones, do her up." The overweight FedEx employee threw the small package over to his friend,
"Line her up Muchacho" The skinny mexican very gently placed the package onto a bullseye that lay between the ramps on the loading dock floor.
"Here's for letting those terrorists into the U.S.!" The man shot the package with an Ak47 which he legally purchased thanks to the Bush administration conveniently neglecting to re-instate ex president Clinton's bill that made it elligal to sell automatic weapons. "Here's for not helping us in Irak!" The man fired again, "Here's for--" His words were unheard as he sprayed the small package in full auto.
-----------------------------
So now I've got to wait for five days as my beloved Matrix Online starts it's horrible journey to my front door. Patience Edgar, Patience is such a virtue.
A virtue of which I am sorry to say I have a great lack of.
Thank god for the "track your order" system , I'll make sure to note each city it passes through and make a list of FedEx offices to bomb when I receive my battered package!

Well guess what,
I'm in beta.
Can I say anything?
If I do I get kicked out of Beta
Do I care about that? Not really considering this.
Although these next few words won't divulge too much about the game mechanics and such, let's just put it this way.
I haven't had a solid 20 minutes of gameplay yet,
Why do you ask?
Because the bandwith is MISSING
I've heard them say that it is possible to play on a 56k without much lag, You know what I say to that?
G.W.Bush has told more truths than that!
All in all, from my point of view ladies and gents,
The game doesn't seem all that bad, but it's in dire state.
Although they call it a beta, it looks more like an Alpha,
Yes it has potential, but the Devs are gonna really have to work hard on it,
and I know that they're trying very hard right now, considering they have 138 hours a week to do so without ANYONE to bother them on the servers, which are closed to admins only for that much time a week.
Then again, it IS a "Beta" , but alot of people aren't going to buy that line.
this game has been in developement for a LONG time..
I've seen Alpha's with better playability then this.
Someone at WB is going "Aww shit" right about now.
Anyway, that's all I'm going to say, if I've breached any rules,
they can punt me from the beta if they want,
it's not like I can play much anyway.

Beta's that bad, eh? They announced the game would be shipped January 18th, but I'm inclined to believe it'll take longer... I don't think you've really breached anything in the NDA. Anyhooo, from what you have seen, does it look... fun?

W00000t. We interupt this beta players lament for a news breaking story (ok not breaking though I am staying slightly on topic without being off topic and I didn't want to create another thread). Halo 2 is here! That is all
