lmao. Does this matter? I suppose that the names given in Zion are different than those in the Matrix, but yeah, probably only the ones extracted from the Matrix get to keep their names. Is that what you were asking? Either way, we can't really know...

I would say the whole being know by an alias thing, is basically like the whole militant/cultural movement of blacks in the years following de-segregation. How alot of blacks wanted to create their own names drawing from their African roots, rather than being called a name they perceived as being more connected to white culture, their "slave name". The people who were extracted from the matrix basically felt that their names they led their lives by were an extension of the illusion. The name they chose for themselves for a hacker alias, a hacker persona, is the only true human thing they now feel they knew about themselves, and it's a name they chose. So they go by that name. The people born in Zion probably dont have any resentment towards their names, because they were given to them by human parents. And I too am sure it may be impossible to tell who has an alias and who has a real name, because the people were supposedly in Zion for the past 100 years or so right? So its quite possible some of the early extracts, passed their alias names, onto natural born offspring. Thus turning the name from an alias, into a real name. In Zion, the line between the two types is erased.
