At the bit where Seraph, Morpheus and Trinity go to talk to Merv, they have to fight some coat/code checkers (I can't figure out what seraph says :P)
These checkers instantly start walking on the ceiling... This is what confused me.
I thought all programs (which I assume they are) were bound by the laws of the matrix and the laws of the matrix normally stop people wlaking on ceilings.
Have I missed something here, or is this a mistake by the Wachowski Brothers?

All programs are tied to the laws of the Matrix, but the Merovingian and everyone who he either created of hired tend to be Exiles who like Smith and the Oracle aren't bound by the rules that they had when they were programs, the Merovingian probably wrote their code so they can defy the rule of gravity to a certain extent
That or the merovingian coded that area of the matrix, it was his own little construct. This may be rubbish, but in The Matrix Online and Path Of Neo, there are constructs within the matrix, and whose to say that the Merv cant code some. I mean the Trainman has his little construct which was probably not part of the original coding of the system, because its kinda underground, its how Exiles become Exiles. Not something the Machines would have intended, unless its another form of control.... damn these noodle bakers.
Yea that makes complete sense. Remember the code that Merv created in the Oragsm cake. He obviously writes codes which protect himself, as in with his Mansion, the "closing door thing"
