This is a little yarn I'm working on to chill out, you may read it and comment,
I hope you enjoy it.
He couldn’t even hear himself shouting anymore, couldn’t hear anything for that matter except a dull roaring that reminded him of the sea, the way it raged and spat in a storm, it surrounded him, nearly blinding him to what he was doing, he was sure he was in the right though, how couldn’t he be? Although it had been a long couple of days….how could he be sure of what he was doing? everything seemed suddenly distant and unreal.
The gun is loaded.
The gun is loaded.
For the love of god don’t shoot beca-
He recoiled in horror as a sudden spasm of terror ripped down his arm and his finger pulled at the trigger, the bullet cut a neat hole in her head, just above her eyes, he watched numbly as she collapsed to the ground and a small trickle of blood began to cascade down her forehead forming a small puddle on the floor.
The only thing that made sense was to run, run as far as he possibly could, never stop.
It’s a simple thing to kill someone, but not so simple to deal with the consequences, from within as well as without, guilt can do terrible things to you.
His feet smacked against the rough grainy sand, he could feel his feet start to sting and burn , but he didn’t slow down, quite the opposite, he ran faster and faster as the sun began to climb it’s way into the sky, clouds shadowing it’s ascent.
Wait, the gun!
What to do about the gun? Can’t keep carrying it you idiot!.
He started scrap at the sand, digging his fingers in and tearing chunks of it from the ground.
Don’t be stupid! They’ll find it, they’ll find you, they’ll get you!
Get rid of it later, just run!
As he ran, tears flew out of his eyes, he wiped them aside and kept on running.
Maybe you’ll get lucky, maybe she’ll get washed out to sea,her cold pale blue corpse, her rotting lifeless body, out there, sinking into the depths of the sea.
He nearly laughed as he saw his car, he was going to get away!
Then it hit him, horror, gripping and unescapable, it consumed him whole as he remembered.
She had his keys.
Police sirens!
KEEP RUNNING!
Of course that had been years ago, such things didn’t trouble him anymore, they were trivial, what was one death amongst so very many?
“Hey slick, what can I get you?” The waiteress asked, she was like all the rest, she looked alive, she even looked moderately happy, a small grin spread across her unremarkable face, but in truth, she was dead, as dead as that girl on the beach and as dead as he was.
They all were.
He threw off his over coat to reveal a bullet proof jacket that was covered in guns, he ripped two uzi’s from their straps and began to rain fire down upon the patrons of the bar, bullets tearing through their cheap imitation suits and splintered the old wooden
bar and the glass cabinets behind it, the smell of gunfire overpower the stench of their sweat and booze.
Hell, it was a shitty place anyway.
He disappeared to the place in his head, not to hide from what he was doing, but to try to find something, something better.
He searched for a shread of remorse or sympathy, but there was none, he knew as much, it had all gone with her, to the grave.
As the guns struck empty he realised everyone had died long before.
His feet splashed in puddle of warm blood as he trasped out of the bar.
He emerged out into the city to see the street was empty.
Of course it was.
It had all gone with her.
To the grave.

His foot steps echoed throughout the town as he walked towards his car, the world was dying now, he could feel it, could feel himself going down with it, like the last person alive on titanic, he could see the water rushing up to claim him, to kill him.
Damned if I go down without a fight.
He gazed over the city town one more time before climbing into the car and starting the engine, he sped off across the desert, in search of the domes, he knew they were out here somewhere.
The only thing left.
The only thing that hadn’t gone to the grave.
Just like him.
A relic of everything the world has lost, the domes held what was left of mankind, every couple of years they built another dome, the human race grew and grew, eventually they wanted to leave the domes, but when they tried they had found that the sun blistered and boiled their skin so easily, the diseases that once had never bothered mankind suddenly killed millions so they retreated back to the domes, back to their prison
The car swerved violently as gunfire shattered the wind screen and tore the interior of the car apart.
He blinked and instantly scolded himself for it, never blink, what your eyes miss in that second could be the thing that kills you.
The car toppled over and it’s momentum carried it forwards, it’s black metal work scrapping against the desert floor spitting sparks everywhere.
After a minute, he finally rattled to a stop, he squeezed out of a hole in the wind screen and pushed himself out onto the road, immediately casting his eye over the desert he drew two plain black desert eagles and watched.
He sat there for hours, letting the sun slowly roast him, the heat boiling his blood and baking his bones, after a while he was satisfied and began to walk back to the town, there might be something therehe could use.

When he arrived back in town, the sun had fallen and night had swept over, darkening every alley, every street and every empty window.
But something had changed, something he couldn't make out, but it was there, like a painting under a painting, hidden by the very city itself.
He made his way carefully, making sure no one was watching him, realisation hit him as he saw a slim figure dressed in a scarlet ring leaders suit standing directly in front of him, leaning on a thin black cane, his face was shadowed by a top hat but he didn't need to see his face, he already knew exactly who he was.
"Antagonist" He muttered under his breath wearily "Great"
"Oh don't say that!!!" Antagonist called out happily, appearing right beside him, a huge smile spread across his youthful features.
Some people would have thought antagonist a fool, a young idiot who was full of himself, but he knew better, he knew the full extent of antagonist's intelligence and his evil, behind that smile was a beast tearing and snapping at its chains, begging to be let free.
"We just keep running into each other don't we?"
"Yes" He replied sourly "We do"
"Could it have something to do with our quarry?"
He couldn't help but be startled at this, even after all these years he hadn't gotten use to antagonist's telepathy.
"I don't even have to read your mind, we're both after her, Lucy love, from above, sent to kill us all, unless there is a deathly prince to provide dramatic fall!" and with that antagonist broke into a mad fit of laughter, practically rolling around on the floor, clutching at his sides.
"Stay away from her" He said before turning away to continue his search.
"Wait!" Ordered antagonist, his voice now possessing some semblance of seriousness, he halted without a choice in the matter, his legs automatically complying.
"She's dangerous you know, even to me, she's been messing with all of us and I don't like to be messed with! I'm the Messer here! You guys are the messees, I liked it that way!"
"Listen, I'm gonna find her, my way and then I'll stop her, my way, understand?"
Antagonist stepped back and fell onto the floor, looking up at him in mock fear.
"Wh. . .why.y. .yes ssir!"He stammered, then he jumped up and grabbed him by the collar, hefting him up into the air without effort, his face contorting into a look of cold fury, his eyes aflame with it “You'd do well to remember who you're talking too, not even your father could defeat me, but then, I guess you already know that, I like you boy, but like you say, I'll do this my way" and with that he vanished.

He pushed the thought of antagonist and his twisted words out of his head, concentrating on the task ahead of him, it would not be an easy one, it seemed that this had became just another ghost town, he never knew where the people went, noone did, but whatever the explanation the city was now abandoned, left for claim by memories and the dead.
After a search that proved thankfully shorter that he'd expected he found a garage that had a few cars inside it, he chose a large four wheel drive. he couldn't recognise the make, but that was hardly important anymore, once upon a time people wore cars like clothes, the better the make, the better the man, these days, only the cunning held on to their cars and they were naught but transport, the bigger and bulkier, the better.
He prayed the engine would start and it didn't disappoint,it sounded like a personal storm, he grimanced at this, anyone who was watching out for would be able to hear him coming for miles, but beggers could be chosers and hopefully the cars bulk would be able to shield it from attack.
He backed out of the garage and sped out of the city, back out to the desert. the domes and his destiny.

He stood there, a small knowing smile lit up his usually grim face, his jet black wings slowly unfolded them selves as a bright white light began to engulf him.
"Son, I'm going now my time here is at it's end, I must ascend to my true domain, I don't like it but I accept that, as must you, understand?"
He wiped the tears from his eyes and nodded, even though he didn't understand, not in the least.
"You have to find lucy. . . all this" He gestured at the surrounding landscape "Depends on it, you must find her before anyone and keep her safe"
"I will" He said, he hoped he was able to stay the emotion from his voice as he watched the light slowly consume his father.
"Oh and look after haizum" He added before the light finally swallowed him then faded into the air.
"I'll miss you dad" he thought miserably, turning back and walking over to a battered old car that had countless bullet holes covering every angle of it's rusty exterior, he climbed in and activated the ignition.
I won't let you down
