Okay, just out of curiocity, how long did it take for you to get all of that information? I would guess a week or so but I asume that the sites and other sources that may or may not be at your disposal would make a diffrence as well.

Time to bring back an old ass thread for no other reason than this forum has shit else going and I am bored.
There is a difference between getting the info together and typing that info up into a readable post. But at the time I didn't have anything better to do.

DD....How do you like the AK/CV-47...is the CV-47 actually a gun? If so, what's the difference between an ak and a cv, or a 47 vs. a 74? Please explain the advantages and disadvantages of shooting 7.62 vs. 5.56 rounds and each. Not that this has anything to do with Matrix guns, I'm just curious and you seem like the authority on shooting shit the fuck up.

1) The CV stands for Civilian Variant. Basically, its the same weapon without fully automatic capabilities.
2) The AK-47 is a fun weapon to shoot. Its heavy, loud, and violent. You can switch it to full auto and still maintain decent control. You can purchase a banana clip which will hold 50 rounds. It is easy to break down and clean. They are a mass produced, cheaply made weapon. While this actually helps to make them durable it also adversely impacts the accuracy. In my opinion it is a fun weapon to take out shooting on the weekends, but I wouldn't spend much money on one and wouldn't want to carry one into combat.
3) The 47 (made in 1947) is the old school, 7.62x39mm model. The 74 (made in 1974) is simply an update version chambered for the 5.45x39mm round. Various studies showed that at close range smaller caliber rounds would actually do more damage because they begin to tumble sooner upon impact than the larger caliber rounds. That and they are cheaper to manufacture.
4) Well, I covered one of the advantages/disadvantages in the last section but there are others. The 5.56 has a muzzle velocity of 3,280fps. This high rate of travel means that the round will almost always fragment upon impact. This, of course, results in significantly more damage. The 7.62 round is so heavy that even when striking bone it is unlikely any fragmentation will occur. Then there is the obvious stuff: the 7.62 weighs more than the 5.56 so carrying as many rounds is far more difficult.

Right on...thanks for the information. So is an SKS the same as a CV? How cheap can you get a California-legal P226 for? I want one.

The SKS was originally produced as a carbine version of the AK. Because the AK was cheaper and faster to manufacture the SKS never really made it into the military and as such is still chambered for 7.62 rounds. It is a semi-auto and can be purchased for relatively cheap.
As for the SIG, price will be determined by how you want it chambered and which variant you are interested in.

I would advise going with the HK MK23 vise the SIG. It come in .45, is a bit heavy and a bit longer, making it more comfortable to shoot. But I suppose it all depends on what you actually intend to use the weapon for.
The HK will be more difficult to conceal but will be a better fighting weapon. The SIG would be a better range weapon since it is cheaper to fire.
As for the California price of each...I honestly have no idea. The only thing I have tried to buy while in this state is my M82A1. I would advise going to "nice" higher end gun stores and seeing what they have. Even if the store doesn't carry the exact handgun they can order it, for a price, so long as it meets federal regs.
