Sega is known for cute games, sonic, and many others. They are not the one company you think of when you think matrix type attitude? Your opinions on this sudden, and odd, change in developers?

Don't worry, Sega has nothing to do with developing the game... They're only publishing it. It isn't too big a deal. And welcome to the boards! Stop by the intro thread when you get a chance and introduce yourself.

Sega far from make cute games, and Sega is made up of several design teams. If Sega could make a great Matrix gam, if it were a pure beat em up handed it over to the guys at AM2 who created Virtua Fighter 4...cute HA

UBI was original Publisher

Monolith has always been developing and still is, and is now owned by WBIE(Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment).

WBIE has always been co-publisher and issued the rights to develop the game since it is their product to Monolith, after turning down numerous other gaming studios.

Monolith's Jason Hall leaves Monolith as it's CEO to become CEO over at WBIE, and then buys Monolith so that nobody who has invested shares in Monolith can acquire it and then take over the development of anything related to The Matrix.

Sega meanwhile, is just making boxes, and as a favor for doing so, they get recognition as one might assume. They took over the job of UBI, and now their job is to package the game and distribute to stores..That's it.

They are developing their own online game, and have no time to be involved with developing one for WBIE. Their current project is "Shenmue Online". The rest of Monolith is most likely busy with F.E.A.R.

Shenmue is the very best game around and can never be surpassed! I am a bum, so dont ask how I know this.............................
