right before Agent Smith copies Bane, Bane gives a dude an envelope and says "all that matters is this." And the dude unplugs from the matrix. Why would they do that. objects can't be brought into the real world through the matrix. can they? this is just something that puzzles me.

Please send any answers or ideas

This exact same question puzzled me for some time as well. I posted the same question and got an answer somewhere along these lines. Whatever the message was in the envelope, when Malachi jacked out the info from that envelope was transferred to a disk on the ship. That is what is on the disk that Captain Ballard delivers to Neo. Since things cannot be carried from the Matrix to the real world, they use disks as the medium to store any extra info carried through the hardline with them. The same goes for when Thaddeus made an emergency drop in the Matrix and Niobe's crew went to retrieve it. That was the answer that I was given and it was well explained to me in that post.

While that has been answered, there is yet something else that still puzzles me about things going from the real world to the Matrix and vice versa. The train at Mobil Ave. used to smuggle programs into and out of the Matrix. Hmm...

maybe its like the disks. A program is written and the put on a disk and is brought into the matrix through the train in Mobil Ave. And the machines never notice.

Heh, my whole thought(s) on this are that the disk is held in the construct and replayed, basically like you would while burning a cd. the thinks played and recorded onto, well, a disk. The disc can then be given to whoever and so on. Pretty much what Anomaly said.

isn't the disk just to tell them the location of the oracle?

yes, in a way it is. when they recieved the disk that was the oracles way of letting neo know that it was time. witch is why when neo saw the disk he had the look on his face that he knew what it ment and what he had to do.

The Disk contained a message from the oracle to neo. she whant's to meet him.

and yes they can't realy bring items out of the matrix, but the operator get's the data on one of his comps. and they de-code it and put it on a disk or tape of there own

The envelope was a disc, and the disc was from the Oracle to Neo giving him instructions on where to meet him. Perhaps the data on the disc is tranferred through the hardline.

I know this topic is old....oh well ;)

maybe it is possible to "download" things from the matrix onto the computers that jack them in through the construct, like how they kind of upload things in the construct

I thought this was quite a simple aspect to grasp but oh well

When you Jack Out of the Matrix you can go back to the Construct where Items are uploaded and downloaded to discs (we saw Tank use the Training Programs) well whatever is on a person when they Jack Out can be saved onto a disc, since Malachi
had the envelope in his pocket when he Jack Out the data was downloaded to a disc that was later given to Neo upon there return to Zion.
