SunSpot Everyone hails the originality of the Matrix concept. But I wonder...has anyone ever seen The Truman Show? (Not to say it's comparable entirely...a lot less kung-fu. ) neo's wife the matrix is also alot like dark city Morpher Yes basic concepts are adopted from many other movies, books and novels. You should see 13th floor. You will be surprised. But Matrix (especially M1) includes much more connections between many numbers, names and characters than any other movie and I think that makes it uncommon one. neo's wife why...is 13th floor like matrix????????? Morpher Did you see 13th floor ? There are only two possible explanations, either you didn't see it, or you saw it. If you did not and you like Matrix then you should see it and I am not going to explain you the reason why. Please, just trust me. If you saw it then you must be joking what means that you are still only human (thanks God) :) . Please answer my question – did you ? Because it is the question that drives me ......... just for a moment. neo's wife no i havent seen it.....but i will :) Achten what i said in the other topic will i also write here, plato (6th cy BC) already stated the 2world system, and that's what they got it from i havent seen dark city, though i did see 13th floor, which is idd slightly comparable. but hey, which movies are entirely unique ? everything is already done once, or more, but i think the WB have done a great job with matrix trilogy, and thats why i like it :) neo's wife and EIQULIBIUM....or sumthing like that.....is like the matrix....it says on the video...MATRIX MEETS 1980 Freddy Krueger i did see dark city (didn't watch it fully) but that looked alot like the matrix. HomoUniversalis Haven't seen equilibrium yet. Maybe I should. Underworld is also the movie to watch if you like the matrix (who doesn't :p) it's come out recently, or is about to.. HU bLindsAge Equilibrium was only Matrix-like in its action sequences and the attitude of the main character (stoic...unemotional). The movie is about a society drugged so as not to feel emotion and the actions that emotion leads to. Pretty good eye candy...but not much in the way of substance. PP "Nothing is new under the sun" Similar ideas, different ways of presenting them. Overall theme: what we know may not be what's real (and vice versa) View Full Version : Used Before? |
