The 3 forms of life in the movies

NMN

in reloaded we see 3 ways of destiny/fate and the motive that people see in life

1)choice: shown by the oracle, morpheus, and neo...
2)causality: shown by merovingian and persephone
3)purpose: shown by smith and other programs of the matrix

any thoughts?
Freddy Krueger

humm thats interesting yes.

the well known is
matrix = birth
reloaded = life
revolutions = death (or dead)

I have three ways of life:

Sacrifice-Neo

Persistence-Smith

Love-Trinity
PP

Nice ideas! I wouldn't have thought of those....

hmm.. how about:

The Good: Neo
The Bad: Smith
and The Ugly: ....the architect?
:p
The 6th Anomaly

How about:

1) Humans
2) Machines
3) Programs

Three species.

this is my theory of the three themes:
1. CHOICE. it all starts with choice.
2. PURPOSE. once someone chooses to do something, it is there purpose to fulfill that task
3. COSALITY is the reaction which occurs from fulfilling the purpose
there are probably many ways in which to arrange these three themes, but this way makes the most sense to me

Good theories, and the general consensus seems to be birth, life, and death...but perhaps its:

Birth
Life
Rebirth/Enlightenment

*the third obviously requires death to occur, the obviousness of the firt two hinders it from being otherwise.*

The third film had death, but death could only lead to a better life, a better understanding...through the end there is a beginning, (ie "everything the has a beginning has and end") it goes to say that everything that has an end must begin again as well. Or maybe its just me trying to make myself feel better about Trin...

or, similarly,
Life
Death
Rebirth/enlightement

In fact are you all right: there are 4 different types of 'life'forms inside the Matrix:

RSI, humans from Zion who are inside the Matrix to do there things to work against the System. Most of these act of free will and own choices, althought they can be slightly influence by things that happen inside the Matrix.

Purpose-related programs, who work for the system with a distinct purpose, Agents and Rama-Kandra are a good example. These programs are created by the System to work for the System and are only created to do one thing only, the one thing they have a purpose for.

Rogue programs, who do not have a purpose inside the System, but live inside the System in either a good way (Sati) or bad (Merovingian). Most of these programs have special powers and can influence the System in a way which is best for them and there survival, whatever they do influence the system: cause and effect.

Source programs, programs which are not created by the System or the Architect, but which are directly from the Source. Identified by the yellow (source) code inside the green code environment. Seraph for instance is a Source program. Source programs are nothing like the other 3, but some kind of mixture: while they are rogue programs, they make actions because of they're own will and choices to serve the highest purpose within the System.

Everything inside the Matrix is made up of green code, humans, rogues and system-programs. even the Oracle is made of green code. But the Source injected a few programs inside the Matrix, who have the source code - to be seen by Neo as yellow - to move around freely inside the Matrix to fulfill the highest purpose: the Reloading of the Matrix. Seraph is made of yellow code and I believe that the Architect is a source-related program as well.

Quite interesting, Spectator, but what about humans still jacked in? Don't they count as life within the Matrix?

I don't see a difference between Source programs and programs doing their job- I thought all programs that are doing their job came from the Source (the ones not doing their job are either created by programs, like Sati, or just rogue programs).

Is there ever a time where we see a program through Neo's eyes and it isn't gold? I'd just assumed the gold symbolized program code.
TheSpectator

yes off course. humans still jacked in live their lifes as RSI inside the Matrix, which do there own things. these forms of life off course doesn't infect the flow of the Matrix.

I noticed that there are programs in green and in gold, these programs differ from each other in the way they behave. the gold programs are more sophisticated and serve the highest purpose in stead of a sub-purpose. Every green program is created by the System to fulfill there purpose within the Matrix, a gold program acts like a keeper over these programs, to protect them to make sure they do what they're supposed to be doing. It was Seraph who said: I protect that which matters most!

There are moments in which Neo's sees green code and gold code. When Neo becomes the One, he sees the Agents and the hallway totally in green code. Seraph's room is in green code except Seraph. As Smith takes over the Oracle, Smith and the Oracle and the room are all in green code. That what is in green code are the sentinels, Seraph, whole of 01, the DEM, his own feet (!!!!!!)

I just noticed it and I just start thinking if there might be a difference between the green and the gold....
PP

hmm

Nice observation!

Could it just be that there was a consistancy error between M1 and the last two films? The gold just signifies independant programs instead of the matrix construct itself, perhaps?

Of course, maybe you're right and there IS a difference. I just hadn't given it much thought.

Thanks again!
