Remember the first Matrix where Neo jumps off the building and doesn't make it, he asks Morpheous if he dies in the Matrix will he die in the real world, Morpheous replies "The body cannot live without the mind."

Do you think humans would willingly give off their energy, I don't. Making a dreamworld is an ingenous way of imprisoning the humans so that they can't fight the machines for their energy.
NMN

yeah thats right

if the humans knew what the machines were doing there would still be a huge war that would be raging. they explain it in the second renaissance from the animatrix
NeoLivesOn

So what your saying is that it was machines who created the matrix so they could harvest human energy? Please someone explain why they cant just take the "humans" out of the matrix.
NMN

exactly

they need the 25,000 btus of body heat and the 120 watts of energy to fuel them
it becomes a cycle. the human are reacting to the matrix because we only exist exist in a world of electrical impulses...thats how the brain interprets everything. the humans produce all the energy that the machines need to survive
as the cycle continues, the machines need to keep up the fields and the power plant. if they just gained the energy and didnt care, everything would fall apart. the machines keep all the humans believing that they are in the real world so the can get the energy. so in reality, it is up to the machines to get their own power, just like it was up to the humans to get their own meat

and the second part, they cant just "take" somebody out of the matrix
1) the mind believes whatever it sees if it hasnt been shown otherwise
2)there are way too many people to find exactly where everyone is, hence the red pill as a trace program
3)the mind has trouble letting go from the world where it has known for so many years
PP

Yup!

Everyone needs a babysitter when they're being used for something else. The Matrix was that- a babysitter for the mind, to keep the humans busy so they wouldn't realize the Truth, and so that they could live long, beneficial lives (for the Machines).

They can't just be unplugged. Remember what happened to Apok and Switch in M1?

so the machines couldn't just save themselves a lot of time, energy and resources by cutting out a few parts of their brain and make them retarted or something and just let them live consciously in the real world well still draining their energy. instead of going through all the trouble of creating a world for their minds... i wonder why the machines would cater to them like that instead of just making things easier on themselves.
NMN

humans use the most energy when their bidies are being used. if the mind thinks it is doing the things it is doing, such as running, then the body will burn those calories and produce that body heat that the machines use for energy. if you ****** the humans and then leave them in the real world and try to take the energy it wont work as the mind will know the body is not doing anything and reduce the amount of energy the body uses, so the machines will not get the max amount f energy from the humans

Exactly. What he is saying is that the human mind needs some sort of stimulation for the brain to produce the required energy. Also it would only be harder to make them ******ed. The cycle works like this:
grow a human, install plugs, plug it in, repeat
To limit brain power it would go like this:
grow a human, install plugs, carefully cut open skull, carefully remove certain area of brain, connect to power cords, repeat

p.s.
Even ******ed people get up and move around. The machines can't keep them in one place forever.

(Sorry if my english is horrible...)

In fact the question may sound a bit "simple" but in fact it's one of the most relevant....
Why creating a so sophisticated computer program to enslave the whole human race???
If this is just for exploiting an energy produced by biological organisms why not chosing cows???
They are "brainless"(lol) and they certainly can't rebel and then, they won't never be a threat for any machine...
Why not just building nuclear centrals???
It gives more energy and it CONSUMES almost nothing.
The power plants must themselves be an expensive(in terms of energy) way of producing energy...You follow me???the Power Plants must require a great amount of energy to be run before producing any energy.

And the "oddest":
in Second Renaissance Part II we see the machines winning without any solar energy(so,they don't need it at last) and without any Matrix exploiting human energy(so they didn't need it and even if they needed it they should have first built the Power Plants which requires a lot of energy just for the construction and for the running)...
So where did the energy they used come from???

P.S:I have not mentionned the fact that 0-1 has been bombed with nuclear weapons(and nuclear weapons DO generate EMPs that machines can't still resist centuries after SR) and I have not mentionned the fact that we DO see Agents in the real world at the end of SRII,in the same world that witnessed the victory of the machines, the same world the Morpheus showed us on a TV screen before entering it...

The energy that has been talked about in the movie is caloric...I mean it's mainly the heat generated by the body that is used as energy...
I don't think that thinking I am moving my legs without moving them will consume calories:simply because if your legs don't move, your body will not consume any energy and then won't produce any...

Because to produce energy you need energy and that energy mostly comes from somewhere:it comes from a "normal" alimentation and the energy stocked in your food comes in great part from the sun...And these are the plants that produce the "sugar" you must burn to produce your energy.
So no sun,no life.

You will tell me "but the humans are fed with the humans dead".
Actually I don't know if such a cycle of life is possible.

"What he is saying is that the human mind needs some sort of stimulation for the brain"...

Why would your mind need a stimulation...while this is actually your mind that causes them in your brain.
