Editing posts; Time limit?

It seems there has been a 1440 minute timelimit on editing posts. I see no reason why there should be such a timelimit, and I find it very unhandy. This is not for the good of the board, and I would VERY much appreciate it if this idiotic rule was removed as fast as possible.

I'm not exactly sure why the forum doesn't let you edit posts after 1440 minutes, I'm sure it is in place for a reason. If we were all allowed to edit our posts from long ago, then the threads in which we posted and received replies would not make sense anymore. If you wanted to post something you should make sure that it's really what you want to say, since you can't edit it after a certain time frame.
