Types of Matrixists

In my opinion, matrixism (you know, the religion) could be compared to Judaism. People think Jews are Jews and they're all the same, when actually, there are three major sects of Judaism. There're the Reforms, the Conservatives, and the Orthodox. There are also three sects of matrixism: the phans, the phreaks, and the addikts.
PHANS: this is the least religious sect of matrixism. Phans have seen at least two of the three movies and like at least one. They do LOVE the movies; they only LIKE them. Many phans show their un-devotion to the wachos by proclaiming how horrible the third one was. That's okay, because they are fans, and we should give them religious freedom, and not persecute them for not loving the matrix as much as us phreaks and addikts do.
PHREAKS: The phreaks are the next most religious of matrixists. Unlike phans, they actually LOVE the movies. They have seen all three and love them all. They also know a fair amount about at least one of the leading actors (keanu cough cough). Anyway, it is important to remember that phreaks are not addikts. Phreaks typically do not dress up in matrix attire to see revolutions at midnight the day it opens or do things similar to that. BUT NOTE: they want to! The reason phreaks are not addikts is because they simply can't be. Maybe they don't have enough time; maybe they don't have enough money, but either way, we cannot blame phreaks for not being addikts because the wish they were.
ADDIKTS: As I have mentioned, addikts are the most extreme matrixists. There is no telling the extremity of the actions they might take to proclaim there fanship to the world of matrix. Unlike phreaks, addikts have the time and money to become this hardcore. Many addikts are actually phreaks who have graduated into becoming addikts.

I am a phreak. I have seen and loved all three movies, and I know A LOT about (cough, cough) one of the leading actors. But, unfortunately, I am not an addikt, although I would like to be. As I said, the reason phreaks aren't addikts is because they don't have enough time or money. For me, its a combination of these factors. See, it's kind of hard to stay out all night to see a movie in the theatres when your parents don't want to. As for money, my family's not poor, but I am. In fact, I'm broke. This means that the only way I'm going to get something is if my parents think its useful for me. Which means to neo coats or trinity sunglasses, at least not until I move away from home and get a job. Hopefully, when I grow up, I will marry a guy who is also a phreak, and together, we can become addikts. Well thats enough for me. How bout y'all? What kind of matrixist are YOU?

i know who that leading actor is u know i do....coz i like him 2...im obsessed i always talk bout him and wat ever i see or hear i sum how relate it 2 keanu...and recently my friend said that it's gone beyond a crush...i really do LOVE him and care for him....and when he dies i will be sooooooo upset u cant imagen....i'll be crying for months and everytime i see one of his movies i'll cry...im a very emotional person....like the other day i watched harball....and keanu got beat up....i cried and when he crys i cry....id say im obsessed!!!!!!!

ya i saw bill and teds yesterday (actually i saw it twice in a row: double the keanu, double the fun). anyway, it was sooo funny. he's so young and cute. he has exactly the same voice though. sigh...i also saw speed...it ROCKED. sometimes i fantasize about meeting him on the street...SIGH....GIGGLE

Well that's a little hard to decide since their both different types of music but the Reloaded soundtrack includes two cd's with rock and composition music. But, the Revolutions soundtrack just has composition. So it depends on the kind of music you like. IMO, the Reloaded soundtrack is better.

the revolutions soundtrack is great for reading. especially when i'm at a sad part in the book just as the song when trinity died is playing. makes me cry!!! hehe. that's what i did the whole time going down to las vegas yesterday. well, that is after watching m1(9th time). its kind of a tradition i do on road trips. it's always the first thing i watch in the morning. wakes me up a little. today i watched m2 (6th time) in the car. (we take the trip in two legs). i'm still a little emotional over the neo saving trinity scene. IMO, its the best scene in whole trilogy. the music, the look on his face, his delivery ....it all adds up to an awsome love scene. i watched that scene again after the movie just cuz i wanted to see keanu's sexy face right as he says "i luv you too damn much". im kinda digresssing but oh well. thats what i do. back to the topic, i dont have the reloaded sountrack, but i'm gonna ask for it for my bday in march. i just got revolutions the other day. see, this is the only place i can truly BABBLE about the matrix. if i do it to anyone else they'll tell me to shut up (kinda like dozer did to mouse) cuz i dont know any matrix phreaks in the real world.

Self-proclaimed addikt and proud of it. :D The weekend after I got the Revolutions DVD, I stayed up all night and watched all of the movies in chronological order. I watched The Second Renaissance first, (I consider this to be a prequel to The Matrix) then I watched The Matrix, then Kid's Story and Final Flight of the Osiris, then The Matrix Reloaded, then The Matrix Revolutions, and then I finished watching the rest of The Animatrix. I've watched The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded so many times that I've almost memorized both scripts, and I'm working up to Revolutions. I also own all of the matrix soundtracks.

I own a couple matrix action figures, but I won't be satisfied until I get the sentinel display from McFarlane Toys. *Drools*

I'm making a matrix style theme for OSX, I'm running the Red Pill screensaver, and more than half my desktop wallpapers are from the matrix movies. I've read "The Matrix and Philosophy" cover to cover. I have a Matrix Reloaded/Samsung promotional poster hanging on my bedroom door.

I own a trenchcoat similar to what Neo wore in the lobby scene in The Matrix (but it no longer fits me), along with three other trenchcoats, and I'm waiting on another one that's coming in the mail.

I dyed my hair black and dressed up as Neo to go see Reloaded opening night when it came out. Whenever someone brings up any of the matrix movies, I'm quick to throw in my opinion and I do my best to explain the things that they didn't understand.

I've downloaded all of the matrix video clips and trailers from the matrix website, as well as The Fanimatrix and Computerboy. I've written a matrix fan fiction that my friend was supposed to turn into a comic, but he's rather lazy when it comes to his art projects.

So yeah, I think that qualifies me for addikt status. :D

Not to be argumentative, but I think there may be a fourth category of Matrix fans.
I cam to this realization when I realized(duh) that I didn't fit into any of the categories, even though I LOVE the movies, have three matrix posters, all the matrix DVDS, all the soundtracks, the animatrix, the animatrix soundtrack, an action figure, all the wallpaper you can download from the matrix website, the matrix screensaver, two matrix t-shirts and one coming in the mail, enter the matrix, all three movies virtually memorized word for word and tone for tone, sunglasses that look like Neo's, and a trenchcoat that's like Neo's but isn't. Now, this probably doesn't qualify me for matrix addikt, but I don't think I'm a phreak either, since I don't know much about any of the actors outstide of the movie. Oh, sure, I know who Keanu is, and I think he's a cool guy, but aside from that, not much.
Is there a category inbetween somewhere?

I am a Phreak!! I have neither the time nor money to be an Addikt or however you spell it. Besides, there are more factors to why I am not an Addikt. I love all four movies (yes, including the Animatrix) and yet, I am not an Addikt. The reasons are: My mom would freak if I wore any Matrix clothes, the people at my school think the Matrix sucks, and if they saw me do anything or wear or say anything that had to do whith the Matrix, they'd frickin' bully and say stuff and beat the crap out of me and stuff. So, they are naturally all my enemies. I am constantly hoping for the Red Pill to come to me and I keep telling my mom to get me a Samsung Matrix phone. And I constantly want a Matrix action figure. So to speak, I am somewat hardcore. I think the whole thing is real. but I really want to undergo Self-substantiation, because the awake exit will probably make me have a heart attack and/or make me puke.

I'm kind of in between fan and phreak.

I have only actually seen the first movie and the four free episodes of the AniMatrix and the comics, but I've also read all the scripts and seen lots of spoofs and read alot about the philosophy, which I think is absurd but fun.

Three days ago I bought some cheap sunglasses which I tell myself have nothing to do with my being a Matrix fan. I am just tired of the sun getting in my eyes.

Me, I'm between freak & addict. I've only seen the movies about a billion times each, but I don't obsess over it in every aspect of my life, except checking this forum approximately 927 times per day.
