I still have to see the The Two Towers... :P I mean, I saw the Hugo scenes but the rest... nada... :D But a friend will lend me the DVD, so that I can see the Lord Of The Rings Triple in theatres. Yes, 3 movies on one day! :D

*Please, Frodo die, please!* (Note: I know he doesn't die....)
Jetfire

I'm excited... I am really looking forward to it :)
da_matrix_rulz

its 12 days till it comes out here.
I am the two

Hehehehe... :P
Solid_Snake

I really want to see how they make Anduril....Aragorn was supposed to get it in the fellowship and that's how he prooves himself to not be an orc spy to the Riders of Rohan from the Rid of Marc...eh...but I digress...I hope it all works out....it should be pretty good.
anomaly303

i cant wait either, but its gonna be so long, almost 4 hrs, but shelob should be good, along with the minas tirith and pelannor battles, it should be an awesome movie
KEANU Holic

its gonna be great. im not quite sure i understood the second one but i loved the part where orlando bloom slides down the stairs on shield. that was awsome! o yah, and all the scenes w/hugo. i almost expected him to interject a "mr. anderson" every now and then. lol. i wish they would do that three in a row thing for matrix. now that'd be cool.

Actually funny you mention that...go to http://www.legendaryfrog.com/temp_movie.htm

and watch:
The One Ring to Rule them All
then:
The One Ring to Rule them All2.

They do just what you just said about Mr. Anderson. It's a little cheesey, but the flash and artwork is good. You LOTR fans may get a kick out of it. Ialso say to watch the first one because it'll get you a little backround for the second one...oh yeah and the artist is currently working on a matrix spoof...so it should be good.

it's going to be UNBELIEVABLE! i am so ridiculously excited. the only bummer is that this is the last of the trilogy, so nothing to look forward to next Christmas...except the big DVD set!!! you know what will be on my wishlist then...

IT might not be the last, they might make the hobbit soon.
Solid_Snake

Yeah i had a friend that says he got a 'leaked trailer' from KaZaA...though I doubt that. i think it kinda sucks from the standpoint that all that stuff you saw of middle earth had to be taken down...
neophile

The Hobbit would make a great movie! although only Bilbo and Gandalf would be the returning characters. is it Peter Jackson that will also direct? it should be, if they want to keep that same authenticity and feel. but isn't he working on the remake of King Kong now?
da_matrix_rulz

nuh the hobbit wont b as great, if u read the book ull see that they meet alot of ppl get captured and steal the treasure, there is a bit of action were the dwarves get caught bilbo saves them and then they exscape from elves, not as-much action as LOTR and the story line isnt all that great.
neophile

from msnbc.com today:

AP: There’s a lot of curiosity now about whether anyone will film Tolkien’s prequel, ‘The Hobbit.’ Are you interested in directing that someday?

Jackson: I’d be happy to. It would be strange for somebody else to do it. And I also think to do justice to ‘The Hobbit’ it would be great to bring some of the same actors back. (Like Ian McKellen for the wizard Gandalf and Andy Serkis for the ghoulish Gollum.) I think it would be cool thing to have the continuity of the design and the look and feel of the world and use whatever actors we’re able to repeat in the story.

AP: Any movement on that project?

Jackson: New Line hasn’t talked to me about it yet. I can only assume they’re motivated to do it now, but the rights are kind of complicated.
Valasher

It's a shame to have to see it in theaters when the extended editions are SOOO much better. The extended edition of ROTK is supposed to be like 4 1/2 hours long. I will definitely go see it in the theater, but really I want to see it in the extended edition DVD.
Swampy

9 hour LOTR sesion planned for tuesday. Fellowship on at 9.30 am, followed by Two towers then off to cinema for a second viewing of return of the king. Any one want to come? I'm trying to borrow my mates video projector but if not my widescreen tv will have to do. It's a shame I've only got a 250 watt stereo for sound. Anyone want to lend me their surround sound system?
Solid_Snake

For those who saw it what'd everybody thiink?
Smithy_baby

Yeah. Return of the King. Of course I go watch it, but I REALLY hope that Jackson wouldn't have changed the story as much as in Two Towers. For example Faramir. Everyone who have read the book, know that he is NOT that kind of a**hole than he was in a movie. Shame :(. He was my favorite character in a book.

I actually caught a midnight show the day it came out --- first screening. (The next day was a washout since I got home at 4 in the morning and then had to go to work..hehe).

Of course it was good, but I found it a bit dragging with Frodo's scenes. I know they have to show all that but still!

Cinematogrophy was off the hook though!
Loved the backdrops.
rockreptile

rotk was solid,,, The Two Towers is my favorite... does anybody know of the best LOTR forums site? plz post the link.

i found one lotr forum,,, kind of small with little activity,,, i imagine there's a larger one than the one i found, since lotr is hot right now...

there was a chick(female) that she is obsessed with Pippin... is that wierd or what? hobbit fetish? wierd
supaman

Uhh.......before anybody starts posting any type of links....make sure to check out the rules.

I think such links are advertising and against the rules here.
Check before you post, or PM one another!!

Just letting you know!!

rockreptile,

I'm sure you can Google it and come up with whole bunch of sites!

Good luck!
Terikan

that whole family of boromir, faramir, and his father are a bunch of whackos. it's consistent at least.

there was definitely not enough legolas action in this movie.

yeah,, ,that's why i favor The Two Towers... legolas is a bad ass,,, not enuff "kill counting" from him in rotk.
Zach

I thought the movie was amazing. Better then the second one but it was a little to long. The battle of Minis Terrif was the most amazing battle I've every seen in any movie. With the elephants and trolls. Does anyone know where Frodo goes at the end of the movie?
rockreptile

good question... for those who have read the book, where does bilbo, frodo and gandalf leave to? and why, EXACTLY?
Terikan

Gandalf had to leave because he's not really human, and they are letting humans rule the place now. Bilbo I'm not sure exactly, I think it's just cause he will die soon otherwise, and they decided to give him an honorary seat.

I imagine frodo had to go because of his wound. Maybe it would heal once he left middle earth.
da_matrix_rulz

ok to answer the questions about were they go, i would be the one to ask as i have read the book about 20 times.

bilbo left because he was once a carrier of the ring same with frodo,
Gandalf left because he is a wizard and he at the end held one of the three elf rings anlong with Galadrial and Elrond,
these ppl are immortal so if they did or didn't have the rings they still could've gone.
Frodo and Bilbo on the other hand were mortal so if they did'nt have possesion of the ring they wouldn't have gone.

i hope that answers ur questions,
if u have any more Q's just ask me.
da_matrix_rulz

oh yeh the leave middle earth to go to the undieing lands (Arda).
there r two massive islands, Middle earth and Arda, but there is a huge sea (Great sea of the west) which they have to cross to get to Arda. they take boats there from the Grey haven.
HomoUniversalis

And legolas and gimli have some more adventures, untill they eventually cross the seas themselves. Gimli elffriend, will be the first dwarf to ever befriend an elf, and to travel to the undying lands.

I can't wait for the extented version, I hope it contains the messed up shire :D...

Matthew 7:12,

Homo Universalis
da_matrix_rulz

yeh that should be a pretty good small battle.
Zach

Im pissed no one in the shire knew that Frodo, Sam, (Kind of Merrry and Pipan) saved middle earth. They didn't even tell anyone. I don't want to see the extanded version. It would be too long, like 5 hours. They should have made return of the king 2hr and 30mins, anyone agree or was it better longer?
da_matrix_rulz

well frodo didn't tell what happened cause he did'nt like the experiance.
Bilbo Frodo and Sam wrote the Red Book, one after the other.
Merry and Pip were still in the service of the kings.
merry was in King Theodens service,
and Pip in King Aragons service.

im not sure if the battle for the Shire was in the movie
but after that the 4 of them were well known in the Shire.
Frodo left not long after that.
Sam became the major of Hobbiton for 7 yrs in a row.
Pip became Thain Of the Tooks.
Merry becomes master of Buckland.
and samwise goes to the grey havens and sails over the sea to Arda.
he could do this because he held the ring of power while Frodo had been poisoned by Shelob.
Ragnarpk 88

I saw it when it came out.......

I loved it. I didn't really like Fellowship and TT bored me after a while, but I really liked ROTK. The battle scenes were really fantastic and the scenes of emotion, were really good. Merry & Pippn were really cool in this one and I especially like Sam & Frodo climbing Mt Doom. Oh and The end, in Mt Doom.

"throw the ring in the fire!"
Frodo turns around, the music goes all...whats the word...holy
"No sam, its my ring"

Wow! i was like...noooooooooooooooooooooooo. I hadn't read the books ya see, and though i knew he would, i just thought that moment was soooo powerful and emotional that it really grabbed the movie for me. I thought the connectoion betwen the two this time was handled better.
Other stuff I liked............
Miranda Otto getting more action (shes rather sexy isn't she?)
Sam finally not actring like a homosexual to Frodo (Oh Sam!!)
Not too much Legolas ( I hate him!!!)

Though thats my opinion...

My Mum (Big LOTR fan) thought it was great but theres not enough Legolas in it. She thinks all elves r cute but Orlando was great as him. Though she doesn't think hes cute in real life...........
She liked the Elephant moment where he takes it out on his own.
HomoUniversalis

I missed Gollum's meeting with Frodo when climbing mount doom. Because than Frodo becomes the Lord of the Rings. He than uses the ring for the first time, and he is corrupted by it. They totally left that out, and it was a shame. I hope they added it in the special edition.

i think they should've made it a 3rd and 4th movie, instead of jst a 3rd... the movie was so freakin long, yet, we still missed a lot of stuff... it was very much lacking Aragon, Legolas and Gimli's adventure in rotk....

If by "uses the ring for the first time" you mean that he actually claims it as his own and is corrupted than I agree and sorry for wasting a post.

If not...he has used the ring numberous times before and is slowly being leeched of who he is.
HomoUniversalis

He just wore it before, Galadriel warned Frodo never to use the ring to control others, since the ring has that power. Because if he would, he would lose all purity, and that is what protects him from the corruption...

That's what I meant. I hope I just wasted your post ;)
