Another dumb idea, though sounds fun... Now, you all know how Smith could clone himself, right!... Just think of how it would be if Neo could clone himself... Like I said, another dumb idea, but it sounds believeable.... I mean, he IS the One. sorry to waste everyone's time, just thought it sounded neat?

First of all you are not wasting our time. I have seen newbies that are wasting my time a lot lately, however you are not. It's a fair question (asked before, but I'll be damned before I explain how search works).

Neo is the good guy. All those Smiths are really people trapped in the matrix. THose people is what he is after, their freedom, their constitutional rights. If he would entrap them, he would oppose himself, his own mission.

if neo did copy himself, you have to admit it would be a really good fight scene: 2000 neo's vs. 2000's smiths

It would be a nice fight scene, but still ethically irresponsible..

Smith can copy himself because he is a virus, and that is what virus's do. Just as Neo became The One in the hallway at the end of M1, so did Smith become The Many.

Supposedly Neo can break the laws of the Matrix so I wouldn't doubt it if somehow he discovered the ability to copy himself. Just think about this: what if Neo and Smith made an army of clones that fought each other? Now that would definitely be worth my money. Wait, this is turning into a StarWars movie.

Maybe because it's not possible.....he can bend the physical rules by flying, defying gravity etc, the he can't mess with his matrix body image. I guess. Is there someone who can teleport in the matrix or am I thinking of X-men?

I think that the Matrix is only the environment, only a place where all programs can be defined and exist. Consider games like Quake, Duke, Wolfenstain etc. These games are a little bit like Matrix. They have rules - a gravity, a weather, a running speed, a number of arms in human body etc. What if there is some anomaly, some person who has the ability to manipulate the code itself (I am not speaking exactly about Neo – not about the person he was at the and of Revolutions). Remember that Morpheus told Neo about a man born inside. This man had the ability to change the Matrix. He freed himself and freed the first Zion inhabitants. This man had to remove all the information about this place and its location. Morpheus says that they are waiting for his return - the Oracle prophesied it. (In Reloaded and Revolutions there is a man who freed himself. You can see it in Kid's Story of Animatrix. His name is Karl Popper) However, Neo has some abilities - can stop bullets, can use and manipulate basic forces like: gravitation, antigravitation, electromagnetizm. But he is not perfect bending rules eg. he destroys the surroundings flying at extremely high speeds. I think that there can be a lot of interesting material for next Matrix movie. What about Mr Popper, the Orphan who had the ability to bend objects, Merovingian, Architect. What means the spoon which the Kid gave to Neo in Reloaded. Maybe there is some menace for machines (not only Agent Smith) which they cannot handle themselves and need people help. Who knows?
BTW. Teleportation seams to be possible. A little experiment was made.

The thought of teleportation scares me.......I mean, what about the risks? Same with time travel....what's the point? If anything is done to the history, EVERYTHING is changed. Even the smallest thing has a consequnce!

Do not be scared. The time travel seams to be possible too. Most physicists agreed that it does not perturb time line. It only creates new branches, new parallel realities for those who travel throug time. It happens both traveling into the past as well as into the future. And it implies that the traveler will not be able to come back to the start point.

They only notice that the person (object) disappeared. After the traveler reaches the destination point in time the time line in this point will split in two streams of time. The one with the traveler and the second without him (in this particular moment). I know what you are afraid of. But your (particular) story will not change and you will still exist in your branch. But there can appear the reality that your history differs or even without you at all. Try to think about it this way: Everything what you do creates time line (every second - and second is way to long and should be divided in lots of infinitely small pieces) Every move can be done infinitely many ways but we chose the only one of them. So if you would like to use your knowledge to change the future you will only build a new one. Nobody – in the reality you started from - will notice the changes. And the reality where you land will have its own history. For people living there nothing changes. They live their own life.

morpher, everything you are saying is only theory. know one knows about time travel. there are so many paradoxes surrounding time travel and teleportation and black holes that it makes even astrophysicists' heads spin. i like your convictions though. very well thought.

and teleportaion is another improbable feat, not impossible but improbable. dematerializing matter, something that cannot be created nor destroyed and then placing somewhere else in the exact same way as before is rather wanting. i know it would be cool, but highly improbable

I mean there was the discovery of nuclear weapons and look what happened with that. History is chaotic. Teleportation does sound cool but if we're already having trouble with things such as public transport which is supposed to make life easier, and personal transport which causes so much pollution and traffic, imagine the problems with teleportation

I think it is not a mater of our (ordinary people) needs it is inevitable (any army in this world would really love it). Oh yes, matter can be destroyed (matter=energy remember?) and that's why (because of the sign =) can be created and it is also inevitable.
If time travel is possible (we cannot tel that it is impossible, in fact it appears to be possible but as we all well know - appearances can be deceiving) then it is possible to kill Hitler before he was born. But we won't notice that only the people living at that point of time. My point is that we actually could notice many time travelers that appeared in our time path - ghosts, aliens etc. We will know that time travel is possible either when we develop such a (devil's) machine or some time traveler appears right before us. At the very moment our time path will split in two independent ones. The one with us and the traveler and second with the history of this traveler, a history of time machine development.

that would be awsome, because then neo could steal smiths line "smith will suffice" and change it into "neo will suffice" haha

Teleportation is a simple theory. Take an object and break it down to its smallest components. In other words, transform it into pure energy. Then move that energy at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second) to another location.

The only problem would be putting all that energy back into its correct place, otherwise the object would come out deformed.

I think there has to be some way to do this in the matrix. If Neo can break rules like gravity, then he must be able to break rules like molecular structure.
