HOW DOES The Oracle know of the future...i mean predicting whats gonna happen?

It is the previous versions of the matrix is a repeat...?
I dun think so...the dates r different...
the ppl in zion r different...

But the general idea of it is...

Someone becomes the one...
He then meets the oracle before the war...
Then helps rebuild Zion...

And it repeats itself... Again and again and again... The people change and things are updated, but the routine stays the same... Only this time Neo changes it... Breaks the pattern

She is also a program. But she is corrupt. She knows what other Oracles do. So she can predict it. Easy as Dell

The Oracle knows all of this because it has happened 5 times, at least,

There are many examples of where people have stated that something has happened before like:

When the Oracle meets Neo for the first time, she says much cuter than the others...but not too bright

Then the Architect says that Neo was much faster than the "others"

And of course, Smith (in Reloaded) at the start of the movie after Neo battled agents then flew off, Smith says: "It is happening exactly like before, well not exactly!" What Smith meant there was that all of the other times, Smith was still an agent, so what changed was that he became currupt. This might contradict what happens to the Oracle in Revolutions but not really. See I believe that the other times, The Oracle was not turned into a Smith but captured or something.

The difference between all of the nother anomolys and Neo was that he didn't follow the same path like the others. Neo destroyed Smith, which eventually lead to Smith's curruption, Neo didn't return to the source...right away, like the others as he does eventually return at the end of Revolutions, and he was the only One who loved a woman so much that he'd risk everything, even Zion's existence.

i thought, dont know why but seemed obvious to me: new cycle, new oracle. yes, no ?*mero shakes his martini* :)

the oracle is a program inside a computerprogram (matrix) so she is able to predict the future cause everything is based on causality, she can collect all the sources (eg variables) to compute the future, still she can't predict further than certain choices are made upon emotions because they do not understand those choices(well they're beginning to do know..at least the oracle does), we can't do this in real life because we connot put all the facts together to come the a conclusion and so predict the future

The One is a statistic change-equation. Like radioactivity you don't know WHEN it will occur, but you know THAT it will occur.

The creation of the One is a matter of change, so it will happen in time. The Oracle knows this and uses this as the first fundament for the Prophecy. Furthermore the Oracle knows that the subroutines inside the Matrix involving the One are created for a purpose: everything will be all right, but as soon as the One stands up, these subroutines starts to become active.
The Matrix slowly deteriorate,
Smith will be freed,
the One will gain absolute controls of his powers,
he will slowly understand the truth about the Matrix
etc.

The Oracle knows that only the One can stabilize the Matrix and in that case he will save all of the people, end the war (part of the plan) and bring freedom.

It is not seeing into the future, but more inevitable, because what will happen is already planned in the programming of the Matrix - to control Neo.

if things happen at least 5 times over, then why would both the merovingian and smith want the oracles eyes? should they also know.
there is something that the oracle has been given to make the future be seen to her, and not to anyone else, its not becasue she knows the "information", there has to be something more to it.

The Merovingian cares not about the routine of the Matrix. He wants the system access of the Oracle. Obviously, she has very high access, and the Merovingian could make "good" (or should I say evil? :p) use of this..

The Oracle is just like those fake ones. She uses her knowledge of set parameters to predict the future. However this seems to me almost magically to them.

The Oracle is the only program who never got a real name. I wonder what her real one is. Since her purpose, at first, couldn't have been the control of Neo..
