I totally agree with you. But I would say "Unison" by Bjork. Bachelorette is very intense, though, one of her best by far. Paranoid Android is the first thing I heard that made me buy the album, and still the best song on the album.
My own opinion:
"2112" by Rush.
"Going for the One" by Yes (not the best, just really like it).
And if you guys are going to choose a Weezer song, their best stuff is on Pinkerton, secondly on the blue album, but mostly not the green album.

I despise of new music... I've yet to hear a "good song" in the past few years. In fact, the term "good song" being used to describe music made in the last couple years is an oxymoron, in my opinion.
If you want REAL good music, you gotta go back at least a decade or two. Here's just a few of the best songs ever created:
Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall
Pink Floyd - Time
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Black Sabbath - Iron Man
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away
Led Zeppelin - Black Dog
Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused
Hmmm... those are the first to pop in my head. However, the single greatest song ever is:
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train

I know it's your opinion, but I'd say it's ludicrous to say there has been no good music mad in the past few years. Not many "classics" have been produced, and the hot industry songs are around for 1-2 months max, for the most part at least. There are those songs that stand out in the mainstream, but they are few and far between. There are more and more excellent artists popping up right now, but lots of stuff is complete trash.
Aye, but I truly haven't found a song that I would actually listen to repeatedly that has been made in the past few years. Maybe my local radio stations aren't playing the right songs (doubt it though, we get both Milwaukee and Chicago stations). Whenever I turn on this "New Heavy Metal" station, all I hear is blaring guitars with a guy screaming in the background at you half the time. He's not singing, he's screaming. This whole "pop music" thing is ridiculous. Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears... What a joke. I also despise of rap music... If there's one genre I hate the most, it's rap. I see more and more people listening to rap, yet all I hear is a crappy synthetic bass beat with someone speaking unremarkably fast in hopes that you won't realize the lyrics are incoherent. The only good part about country music is Shania Twain, and even there, it's the music video that gets the credit, not the song :D.
Then there's Linkin Park - The band with an identity crisis. They can't decide if they're rap or if they're rock, so they try to throw them together... the outcome is horrible, at least to my ears.
I know I'm generalizing many things in my sarcasm, but you must admit some of it is true to some extent.
Matrix Believer - I must admit, Incubus is pretty good. What was their song a couple years back? Drive? That was good... then again, it was made a few years ago :D
View Full Version : Best Song Ever!
one hit wonders? - Johnny Depp... the madman!
