strange moment in the movie

Hi all, I loved M2 but there is one thing that puzzled me. How did Neo stopped the sentinels with his hand outside of the Matrix? Doesn't that makes you think that they are still in the Matrix?:(

I am sure that that was placed there to make u wonder. Because he does stop them, but he also falls into a coma from using his powers too. So it makes u think if they are still in the matrix, or if some powers are being able to be used outside the matrix

It's possible Smith left residual code in Neo from M1, which gave Neo the ability to overcome the Sentinel.

Smith: "Our connection. I don't fully understand how it happened. Perhaps some part of you imprinted onto me. Something overwritten or copied."

One thing I could never figure out: why didn't Morpheus and the gang place read-only status on their Matrix-selves? Any web administrator knows the importance of disallowing write access to visitors. And these guys are infamous hackers!!!
