Hey I'm with you. I really don't think that my computer (which locks up if a type too fast) will be able to handle a game of this caliber. Looks like it's time for Jimmer to upgrade. Donations anyone? Most people's computer will run the game as long as they have 1.5ghz, 256 ram, and a 64+ meg video card. The graphics may not look as good though since those pictures are very high resolution, and probably include some anti-aliasing and iso-whatever filtering. I hope the game looks that good on my comp though. the game still isnt that near completetions to the graphics could possible become more polished in the end. sick. couldnt have put it better myself. graphics look sick, apart from the chicks. I just hope the graphics won't make the server crash, but I'll stay optimistic. And if Terikan is right, It probably means I'll have to upgrade this baby.

Anyway, I think it won't be a problem for my computer. I have an Athlon 2.4 ghz PC and a GeForce 4 MX graphic card:)

So happy, that I have DSL Broadband:D Man, I'd be happier even with 56k....stupid campus only gets 33.6 in the dorms. Hopefully that won't last... Either that or I'm moving out by the time TMO comes out ^_^ You guys make me so happy: I have cable, and I have yet to find a limit on my bandwidth. :D.

Anyways, awesome pics. Now I'm REALLY excited about the game. Hopefully it livwes up to the hype they're pumping, and the story actually does continue in a logical (not to mention cool) manner. Either way, none can miss the chance of actually jacking in, and meeting other hardcore fans.

Trust me, you've read nothing yet :D Eh, ive been reading these forums for awhile, and this is the first time Ive had to disagree with the majority of the populace.
These graphics are awesome? Look at the sides of the buildings and even the bricks on the first screenshot. What is that, an 8-bit texture? Shadowbane was a terrible game, and the graphics were even worse.
I dont mean to bust anyone's bubble, and I realize it is very early in the developmental cycle, but these graphics are nothing to brag about.
Besides the character models, a PS2 looks better...
IMHO. Atorak, it doesnt seem like you have played many mmorpgs...heh. the graphics are generally abysmal compared to any serious console games that are coming out for ps2/xbox nowadays which are pretty good looking. you need to realize that this is a huge and expansive game and perfect graphics are hard to come by. looks great for the early stages of an mmo tho The graphics are nice... but they're definately not anything special. From the looks of the screen shots, Star Wars Galaxies has better graphics, and the EQ2 screenshots are amazing... simply breathtaking.
Don't get me wrong though, the graphics could change by the time the game's release, but even if they don't, it won't matter to me. As long as it's the Matrix, I'll buy it. Plus, there's tons of other features in the game that will more than make up for the graphics. Originally posted by Terikan

YES!!! I CAN MAKE IT!!! I just got that email with the updates and I almost tripped over myself trying click fast enough (you think of something better than tripped :p )
I hope the server is not laggy, it might be with all the users, usually morpgs are browser based because of te high bandwidth. And with graphics like that it would undoubtidely lagg. Look at things like Quake and Halo, with a pure broadband connection it still laggs a bit (that's right, I just got a DSL, Gotta love it) It feels good having a hi-speed connection doesn't it.. :D
anyway, I wasn't really paying much attention to the buildings.. The polygon count on some of the more feminine parts of the bodies is very high... just the way (aha aha) i like it, aha aha. :p You know, asking around, I guess PlanetSide is a mmorpg with thousands of people and is not very laggy, as long as you have a broadband connection. Hopefully it will be more like that. lag would suck, but server crashes would suck even more.. When watching the server status on Star Wars Galaxies, it's not very pleasing... in fact.. it's not very nice at all... i hope my computer can handel it.
that are some cool screen shots, the surounding looks a little like a crossing of GTA 3 and MAFIA

well that a nice thought. that your able to make your own character. that you can choose your own, skin color, hair style, clothes and more like that.
also it would be cool if you could make your own strenght, defence, attack, endurace (and more of that) that you can put points in the bars. mabey so that you can ballance them correct or of course give it all to strenght and attack. haha...I'm just hoping for GOOD options when it comes to making my avatar...
As for the strenths and stuff, every RPG I've played lets you customize your beginning, but everyone has the same limitations (aka number of points to start). You either directly or indirectly (via a quiz thing) decide what your character's strengths and weaknesses are. I just hope I can play as some kinda mysterious looking type... The pics seem to be the typical dogooder. I love the evil look or Morpheus kinda look.. Mysterious is good.

Ah, so much hoping. I need to stop hoping and start doing. I wonder if it's too late to get in as a programmer or something... ;) Man, I'd give my left foot to be part of that project (or any Matrix project, for that matter) Hmm.. To bad I suck at programming. What if I gave my right foot to learn programming, and my left to join their team? programming?
I think that if they put programming into the game, it isn't going to be C++ or something, I mean... THAT isn't userfriendly! ;-)
I think it will be something like you see in the mainsite of the matrix... I mean the 8 bit, 16 bit & 32 bit binairy coding etc.

but if it is a multy player game, shoudn't you download it in stead of buying it in a store ? It'll probably be available for download, but they'll probably also sell it in stores; they do that with quite a few games. That'll help them distribute it and everything more widely, anyway. If they had it available online for download only, imagine the number of hits and how bogged down the site would become that first week.. eh, that's my crappy reasoning anyway.

Binary's fine, just hope they aviod the Hex. WIth my luck, it'll all be hex-oriented. I just freggin' hope they will use simply command coding like www.Darksigns.com a hacking simulator game. These kind of codes are easy to learn, but hard to use in "the real world".. Perfect for TMO..

Greetz It's called "The Matrix Online" and will be a MMORPG. It's supposed to be out the summer of '04 (I'm guessing that'll be pushed back to next Christmas or so, but that's just my opinion). FOr more info, see other threads on the subject.
