somebody answer these nagging questions

neoMan2.0

okay, i have tons of questions and i really hope some of you might clear this all up for me:

first, i don't understand how it could be possible that smith could enter a human body and "become" that person in the real world. isn't he just a computer program? if all the programs could just insert themselves into real live humans, why would there be the need for a matrix at all?

second, does anyone else notice a similarity between "the architect" and that old guy in the real world (i think they call him the chancellor). i just remember seeing that one scene where the old guy and neo are awake late at night and thinking that something was not quite good about that guy. when i saw the architect i immediately thought it was him. idunno, just a hunch.

third, if all the stuff that the architect says is true, then why do the agents always come after neo? if his ultimate purpose is to save zion, why would the agents be trying to kill him? wouldn't his death in effect destroy the matrix?

fourth, how the hell did the oracle know that neo hadn't been sleeping? she's a program, right? so how can she tell what's going on inside of him in the real world?

i know i've got more, i'll keep them coming when i think of them. thanks for any input anyone can give...

answering your questions...

one: smith is a computer virus. computer virus are designed to enter programs, infect them, and then use them to infect other programs. if your brain is nothing but a bunch of electrical signals ordering your body, then it is easily possible for smith to enter and control a human body. also, the agents can't escape the matrix because they are part of it. but agent smith is no longer an agent. he is not bound to the matrix and can enter and exit it as he wishes. but he needs an exit to do so. i don't think anyone at Zion will simply open an exit for him, but ironically this is exactly what they did. the operator should have been paying attention to his monitor and saw that it was agent smith about to pick up the phone and closed the exit.

two: no, i see no similarity whatsoever.

three: the oracle is kind of like a calculaor/analyzer. she calculates all the equations of a possible outcome and then predicts them. she can also analyze almost anything in the matrix. the matrix broadcasts, as best it can, your body into the matrix. if neo hasn't been getting enough sleep, then his body outside the matrix acts this way. basically he is tired. well this is reflected in the matrix as well because his physical condition in the matrix depends on his physical condition outside of it and vise versa.
