how cool would it be if the highest ranking player for the zionists was able to fly and essentially become a neo, flying around the city, and the top ranking machinist player could become an agent smith of sorts and fly around the city and the two could duke it out and such? that would be so awesome to watch/become one of them, but youd need to be crazy good

Yes, it needs to be almost impossible to reach a rank like this. I mean or else we'd see swarms of character's soaring through the air.. A little odd if you ask me.

I agree that having the One and Smith battle it out in the Matrix Online would be cool...but when you estimate how many poeple will be online, and when (considering it's an world game with time zones), the chances that the One and Smith get together would be slight and it would be boring to wait around to do this, I guess it would have to be coordinated. But i guess it would be fun to see it happen, who knows, maybe the matrix online will bring online gaming to a new level and change things...anways, I beleive that you will be able to become the one, but with alot of hours spent kicking ass..and technically, the earlybirds will get there first...

well i kinda disagree, if youre going to be the one or the smith you need to be the type of person who logs hours and hours each day to the game, so you probably will catch eachother alot

Indeed, and those kinda hardcore gamers are rare, and The Matrix Online does not offer enough opportunities to these kind of gamers...

I wonder what the abbilities are of the environment, how high will you be able to fly inside the matrix (IF we are able to fly) and how fast will we be able to move?

Well, following the Matrix legend, I think we'll be able to go faster than the human eye, meaning kick, punch and throw a normal person down before he blinks an eye...

Flying, if we can flying, height won't be an issue.. That's exactly why I am doubting it will excist. You could just fly up into the sky and snipe down some n00bs...

hummm because mostly the games come out in america first and later in europe. it will be unfair if all the people in america would already would be high ranking and every one in europe (or other country's asia, russia, australy) would still have to begin from the start.

of course it woudn't be good if every one that is high ranking, could be able to fly and stop bullet because that would suck.

but if lets say on the zion side, for example has a ranking of 1000 and he is the one, and all a sudden some one else has a ranking of 1001 well then they will compete wich each other to be the one (and the same on the machine side).

so i say let the being the ONE or 'super' SMITH out of it.

Well, the movies all got out the same date over several different countries... so I hope TMO will too!

Like you said freddy, I don't think competition between the zionists would be very realistic.. You'd have a leader on level 80 who kills everyone on 60 afraid of being surpassed... It just ain't right.

Just a query here : would it be possible for a VERY good hacker, programmer to hack into the matrix online and give his character the ability to fly?

I think it could be, whoever puts a Neo character into the game (whoevers using that character if there is one) will already be using the written the code for him, so if a hacker could get into the program code and copy it, they could put that character in as a second Neo in the matrix online.

It's totally far out but if someone could do it the matrix online people would eventually see the other Neo in the game at somepoint and be gutted! They'd probably think someone from the the programming department was taking the p***.

As I said before you get competition within the ranks, cause anyone who can fly doesn't want to loose that ability. And that kind of competition ain't good...

I'm not even going in how difficult it would be to script it.. Imagine the keycombinations.

But after a while there would be lots and lots of people at this rank and of course you will always have the guy who go's and beats up the N00B's.So I dont think it is a good idea.It would be good if the computer played the part of the main characters, Neo, Smith etc.

why hack (cheat) to become the one and be able to fly. it's stupid and if 1 can do it others will follow and destroy the fun in the game

To answer the question at the beginning of this thread, I would have to say that having the ability to become "the one" would totally mess up the balance of TMO especially since people would be fighting over why they can't be the one instead of just enjoying the game as it was meant to be enjoyed.

they say on the web site that u cant become neo u can get ability codes to do sweet stuff but u couldent essintail become neo or smith because they could go around killin any one they wanted

yes on the matrix online site they say
that you can't fly, but can do super jumps like trinity and morpheus.
