the site looks pretty awesome right now. use a few more pics maybe? have navaras playing in the background? but for some reason i STILL cant see the flash intro, anonymous do you know why this may be?

neuro, It takes awhile for me, also... I have DSL. Once I leave it alone and let it fully load once it will run fine. Oh and about the site not having enough pictures : I downloaded a bunch of pics, I just got tired today so I didn't get to put them on the site yet.

I tried getting a forum up and running but since I am not paying for the website it won't allow me to have more than 50 files. Sucks. And I don't feel like paying for the webspace until this thing gets a lot more serious. So I hope that is understandable for everyone. For right now we're going to have to continue using this thread. Sorry about the inconvenience. See you.

As for our own forums, why not use EZBoard? I believe they have free forums that we could sign up for. I'll look into it right now. I also have to check out what you updated on the site so far Anon, good work so far though.

I found the song that plays during the Burly Brawl and I put it on the site using the <bg soundsrc="xxxx"> but it's not playing. I'm too sleepy to try to get it working, I'll get to it in the morning.

Also, did you lower the quality of the song, "Neodammerung"? I have it and it's about 5 MB, which is quite a bit... If you want I could lower the quality for you, and send you one that's a bit smaller.

Yea, I like the song on the intro better.. And I thought it'd be better for the background music for the main site but I can't find a site that has it. If you could upload it that'd be cool. And good job on the gorum! I hope we can get one up and running....

Anon - Right now, when you access the forums from our web site, it loads the forums into the little window and keeps the menu for our web site. It looked a bit awkward at first, so you may want to change it so the only thing viewed is the forums, and not the menu for the site too. I'm also going to upload the neodammerung song as soon as I get a chance (I wanna eat lunch :))

Also, I'm going to post a thread for our clan in the official Matrix Online forums. Hopefully that will get us some more members. I'm also thinking we should start a new thread here on matrixmania.com... 11 or 12 pages of replies to read is sort of discouraging for new potential members.

Anon - I couldn't get the song to be less than 7 MB lol. What I did was take a portion of the song (about the first 40 secs of it) and turned it into a flash file. Now we should have a little control bar for the music, displaying "Play" and "Stop" to control the music. It SHOULD loop the song, and the file is 75 kb. Not too big, but we'll see how it goes. I uploaded the flash file (neod1.swf) and the html code (neod1.html) to the site. However, you'll have to implement it into the main site, as I can't remember for the life for me how to do it in HTML... If you can't get it to work, then I'm not sure what we could do to get the music in there... Also, I think you should start a new thread on these boards here summarizing the key points of our clan, so it will be easier for new members to read about us.

Yet another update from me -- The flash intro is completed, and it should be working fine now. If it keeps saying "Loading..." Just give it a couple minutes, it's 165kb and may take more time on slower connections (Hell, it even takes a minute or so on my cable).

The Enemies section should be up soon. And yea I don't know what's up with the page/intro , man. Making webpages is a #$&*@.

i dunno at this point its hard to say. hopefully most people are just too lazy to check in frequently because the game won't be out for a while. lets hope that thats the case.

I think things have been slowing down because of the holiday weekend... Everyone's occupied with turkey and beer and football. Plus some people may have went somewhere for the weekend.

As for the site... I'm not sure what the hell is wrong. I have a feeling something is going on with www.freewebs.com because if you try going to their homepage there, it still loads SO slow. Perhaps they're having network problems or something? Also, our website itself takes forever to load... not just the intro. I say we give it a couple days and see if the lag clears.

As for the forums - I need you guys to register at our forums before I can do anything hehe. Right now there's only me, and I think Anon (I'll make you an admin when I get a chance, Anon). And let's get some discussions going in there!

Lastly, I'm going to start a new thread here on matrixmania.com, giving a summary of our guild and telling how to join. We should probably start talking in there, because if I were new, I wouldn't really want to read 11 pages of replies...

Lol, is freewebs really that bad? I'd go with geocities, but it has an hourly limit on bandwidth (which is BAD). I've found that their 5 MB limit runs up fast, often.

It's real bad... surely there has to be some server with some decent options.. Anyone got any ideas? I WANT TO SEE ME ON THE ENEMIES LIST, PRONTO!! :D

Every MMORPG that I can think of has the ability to make some sort of alliance between players, whether that be through a clan, guild, etc... I see no reason why TMO wouldn't follow this pattern.

sm4113r - We're not asking for any money at all. I'm not sure where you got that idea from... The game itself costs a monthly fee to pay... Also our forums asks if you'd like to contribute money something. Don't do that though... Those greedy bastards at EZboard just put that in there in hopes they may get some money if you upgrade the forums.

I might be really naive, but war? Reborn will officially declare war on the Lone Gunmen just as they have done to us? I might wait before I fill out my ap. now. Help me with this whole clan business. I was taking a look at our "beginnings" page. It says that the machines' "promises were not carried out upon....we will harbor an attack on the Matrix. We are on a mission to release as many minds as possible, if they are ready of course...by giving the machines all we've got we will be able to give freedom to the rest of our kind." This is interesting to me because it's assuming the machines didn't keep their word and that it is us against them. I am not so sure if I agree. Even if they don't keep their word, I believe we need to find a way to keep peace between man and machine. Or am I just taking this too seriously...(also wanted to let you guys know I'm still here, reading, keeping posted, etc. haha :-)

Also, the info on the webpage may change as new info is revealed about the game. Since the Wach. Bros. and UbiSoft are being pretty descreet about the storyline of the game, it's hard to say what exactly "The beginning" is. For now, this will suffice.

I'm dumbfounded in the saying "From the ashes of ReBorn, a new order arises..." This phrase seems to imply that ReBorn has been destroyed - A mighty empire, pummeled to bits much like the Aztecs and other such magnificant empires. However, here we stand (all in one piece), united *cue the American flag ;p*. So tell me, how can the Lone Gunmen exist if ReBorn is going strong? It's contradictory... a loophole. If this is the kind of logic we can expect from our enemies, then perhaps our victory in this war is not too far out of reach. :p

Okay guys and girls I have a few things to go over...

ReBorn Members : Sorry for my brief absence but with these holidays coming up I've found it alot more difficult to spend time on the computer. But don't let this dissuade you in joining or making any kind of contribution. I am more than happy to see the amount of interest on a solitary idea that had once brewed in my mind. I've received several applications in my e-mail but the amount still confuses me. In several days the Roster section of the site will be created so I am going to need all applications A.S.A.P. And kneesaa, that section of the webpage will constantly be subject to change until the video game does come out. Nothing is for sure right now, though, but when The Matrix Online does finally come out I will be able to have a more accurate aim on the post events of Revolutions. I'd like to encourage people to help out with the website and submit a temporary picture of your character if you'd like. (that is if you already sent in an application) I know it will not correspond with that of the video game, but hey, there's so much one can do. So if you'd like to do that, that will be fine. And lastly, I've been seeing a lot of other "clans" emanating from Reborn's idea. One being, "Lone Gunmen" and the other this idea of having a "BIG HUGE CLAN" for Matrix Mania. I consider both as mere knockoffs of our idea. Remember, we were the original. And originality can never go wrong. So don't fall subject to these other "clans." That's all for now, and once again I'd like to thank everyone for making ReBorn what it is today.

Lone Gunmen - Wage war? Against us? I'd suggest that you know more about your enemy before deciding to go to war with them. Remember, there are strength in numbers, especially if they are unified. This is what your faction lacks, U_N_I_T_Y. Unity and Loyalty are the key factors in a faction, and so far it seems like the Lone Gunmen have neither one of them. I mean, sure it's a cool name and the whole idea seems neat but come on.. How far are you really going to get? A bunch of "renegades" with no leader? I believe that there is no need to go to war with you, we'll just sit back and watch your members begin to turn on each other. Trust me, it'll happen. So maybe you want to think twice, or maybe you don't. Your choice. Your loss.

What makes you say we have no Unity and Loyalty? And we HAVE a leader... Cyqu and H.U.

I couldnt picture myself being in a in a large faction of people. its like being sheep in a herd, you have no individual decisions. id rather be aligned with a group of 10 people closely knit. when this group does form, the lone gunman could possibly be people i would assist because they represent themselves. with a large faction, no one cares about helping you out, they just march and get shot =/

I'm still bothered about this and since this is the place to share my views, share I will, haha. Now I am concerned with this whole shooting business. I can understand shooting each other in a different game, but in a game based on the Matrix? Unless one wishes for those that are plugged in to remain plugged in, ignorant that they are even plugged in, then yeah, I can understand you shooting me for wanting to show them their options. BUT I don't think that is anyone's mission, or I could be wrong. Or I'm just crazy, but man, right now, I don't understand why a lone gunman would want to shoot me. Yes, I know it's a game, but the only person I can comprehend wanting to cause me harm would be an agent. I guess it comes down to the fact that I am constantly grappling with the fact that people kill each other. Period. (maybe I need to go read some more Freud, haha). yeah your telling the truth, look at the wars in the dark ages. when the english fought the scothis (or how ever you typ it)
the english had many numbers: example 18.000 and the scots only 7000 but with guerilla war type they beated the english. in the beggining it whas easy to beat the english. because the english fighters were a group but when they attacked they al fought for them selves not caring for each other just thinking how to get the most kills. so the scots of course beated them.

later the english did fight with each other (helping each other) but still the scots beated them.

so this might happen with the reborn clan, that the members won't help each other. but thinking of he will give me cover fire (but that guy of course doesn't)

the lone gunmen are a movement they help each other, but we don't depend on each other every time.

you dont sound old dont worry. it doesnt seem like youre a huge gamer but a game like the matrix online is gonna be potenitally very violent, probably more violent than any of the movies. it may not be as GRAPHIC because its just computer graphics but there will be a ton of death. In the world of games death is taken pretty lightly. you die, you restart and keep going. You will probably have people shooting at you just because theyre bored. Since the lone gunmen dont like us then they have an even bigger reason to be shooting at us. I like your views on how precious life is, i think that it would be interesting if we were all that careful and tried to preserve life, even in the video game, but lets face it that its not gonna happen. dont try and reason with them they wont listen

Lol, after just reading last night posts today, it seems everyone needs to take a chill pill... It's just a game -- a game that won't be on the shelves till next summer at the very earliest (I'm thinking next christmas, personally).

Secondly, I don't think some of you understand what a clan is. Every MMORPG has some sort of alliance system - whether that be a guild, clan, etc. Now usually if you want to do ANY high end game content, you're going to either have to be in a big clan, or know a clan that will let you tag along. Guilds/clans are MAJOR parts of almost every MMORPG I've seen. In star wars galaxies, your guild can build it's own city and help you fight in dungeons and whatnot. In EverQuest the larger guilds raid weekly. What I mean by raid is they get a group of people (15+ people usually for harder mobs) and fight through a dungeon (or the equivalent of a dungeon). The dungeon is filled with mobs that would tear through several people - however, as shown, there is strength in numbers. If you want some of the BEST items in the game, etc., you're going to HAVE to join a clan.

Now, aside from end-game content, there's other perks to being in a guild/clan. As mentioned with star wars galaxies, you can be a part of your very own player city (which probably won't be the case with TMO, but nonetheless). If you're in a larger clan, then chances are there will also be several people online whenever you log on. If you only have 10 people in a clan, you might be by yourself most of the time. Some "loners" may like that, and that's fine... However you're losing an invaluable resource of information if you go it alone. In all the MMORPGs I've played, my guild could answer my questions about the game 99% of the time. Also, guild/clan members usually give discounts on items they sell to others in their guild/clan. If other people in the guild are willing to fight with you, there's usually bonuses for fighting in groups. The list goes on and on, and I'm sure it will grow even larger once we get more specific details on TMO.

Now that I've addressed the perks, I'll address some of the worries you guys have brought up. Individual decisions - Now, some of these decisions will be majority, but most decisions you make in the game will be your own. Who will be the leader is a group decision, going to war with another clan is a group decision, dates for raids and parties are group decisions. I'm not sure why someone would be so upset with having a majority vote on decisions like these... What other "group" decisions would you prefer to be individual? I'm not understanding your concerns here... Also, it's not like once you join a clan, you are some number. You don't become some mindless zombie who needs a leader to order you around... You do whatever you like, and usually the only restrictions are to use common sense (Don't be an ass to other people too much, etc...)

Phew... Lastly: You guys also seem to think that one can freely go up to any other player, put a gun to their head, and press the trigger. This is not true. Unless you play on a PvP (Player vs. Player) server (which is a minority server), you won't be able to attack any other human players. You'll be attacking computers (NPCs). The ONLY way to attack another human player is to challenge them to a duel. When one is challenged, one can either accept it or decline it. Until it's accepted, you can't touch them.

With all that said, I have some questions... Is the Lone Gunmen a clan? Will you guys tag yourselves at "The Lone Gunmen" in the game? It appears that way from your website, etc... However, aren't you going against your founding principle if you do do this? Yet if you do not create a clan, how would this work out? It would be quite hard to communicate all together in the game...

I gotta take a breather... :D

So is that a hint for me? haha, you guys are just lucky you are able to separate yourselves from the games, characters, etc. you play. This will be an interesting experiment. And yes, I have admitted that I have absolutely no experience gaming. But I will continue to try to "preserve life" and "reason" with others, even if that means my character dies. Better not put me on the high council eh? haha, Ok, I'll take my chill pill and be quiet; my leader has spoken. ;-)

Lol, I was referring to everyone... Don't worry though - You (along with everyone else) will soon find that "death" in these types of games isn't that bad... All it usually means is you lose some experience or an item or two, so it sets you back 20 or 30 minutes because you have to get back what you lost. Plus, you'll probably spend most of your time in game killing (whether it be NPCs or real people).

for players that don't whant to be in a clan, but fight for them selves but that help there friends when needed in battle.

We are indeed a movement/group...
However, there is order, the group will need to expand to aprox. 9 Lone Gunmen... When one of the Lone Gunman plugs in, he will notify the rest of LGM that he is plugged in.

Where will he strike ? :
The Lone Gunman are a group of people believing in a cause, and that cause is a vision, and that vision is : It will be possible for humans AND machines to live in harmony... therefore is needed :
- A visible sun (the air must be cleaned)
- A mother earth, divided into 2 halfs (In the beginning only, later we will start integrating the two species into each other by exchanging help to one another)
- Help, we will (with the help of the machines) clear the skies, with that the machines will no longer need us to survive), then they will help us to fully restore Zion and start building 2 other human cities.
- A infrastructure will rise, A.I. will give us a name of their leader and we will choose a person that would fit leadership, it will be a person without agression, it will be a person without hatred against it's former enemy, it will be a person born outside of the matrix.

The order of releasing people to start rebuilding Zion and start building the 2 other human cities will be as following :
- 120000 women
- 120000 men
- Children from those who are chosen to leave the matrix

(Why people with children? Because they have a certain level of CARING, and caring is what we need when we start rebuilding the human world)

Yes, we do not support a clan... we support a vision, and if you look at it in a relative way you see that A.I. never ment to enslave the human rase, the human agression became the human rase it's own demise. If we didn't poisened the skies in the first place, the machines didn't have to use us as an energy-source. A.I. never intended to take over the planet, they tried to integrate, but the humans discriminating behaviour became it's own apocalypse... A.I. had 2 choices ...stop to exist and die or use it's agressor to survive.

So you are partially right, A.I. has a good name in our movement... as I may quote the reason of A.I.'s procedure :

about this pvp stuff. It is possible to have an environment in which there is pvp and no pvp, by working with modules. I personally doubt there won't be a lot of pvp combat because that's probably the most challenging combat found in the Matrix. Fighting some vampires or ghost isn't half as exciting as knowing I will be facing off against "Anonymous the Horrific".

Dueling sucks. I have played enough mp to know. However looking at the screens and info ubi gave us, I think we'll be seeing a "cutscene" in which both players can enter how they want to fight or whether they want to flee.

I think all servers (or most of them) should be pvp, without dueling. We'll just have to take the friendly fire for granted.

What seems to be the case with TMO, is you'll have a choice to play PvP or not. I believe you can toggle this option. When it's on, anyone else who has PvP can attack you. I am certain that this is how it will work, though there will be some restrictions, I'd presume. There would have to be some certain level restrictions for who you can attack. Otherwise you could have a situation where a newly created player turns on PvP, then some highly experienced player with PvP comes along. This player has superior armor, weapons, etc... In other words, it's hopeless for the new guy to win.

like in runescape when you go in the wildernis, you need to go to a surten lvl before you can attack a lower player.

it will be fair yes, that high lvl players will not be able to attack new guy's

The MO site says the summer of 2004 is the targeted release date. Hopefully it's sooner, though :D

I'm hoping it won't be. I'll have my degree by than, and with a nice job (maybe security) I should be able to make enough money to buy myself a good P4. Or pentium 5, if it's out by than. If it comes out earlier, I'll probably won't be able to play it because of the requirments. And the more they postpone the more it will rock. Release it in the autumn guys! :D

Aye, they say the game won't be out till summer next year... However I'll bet you all it won't be out by next fall, or more likely, christmas, at the earliest. Don't rush the release date - They can only make it better over time, and the more time they have to work on it, the less bugs and more content it will have.

Let's just hope no one steals the source code, like what happened with Half-Life 2. I was so ready to play that game when it was supposed to be released last october... Now I have to wait till April :(.

Alienware makes some ungodly computers... at ungodly prices. Those are some awesome PCs. And I too am a loyal fan of Pentium... I just don't like AMD for some reason. Maybe it's because the Blue Man Group doesn't endorse AMD, maybe it's because every computer I've gotten had a Pentium... Oh well.

And of course we have finals coming up in the next two or three weeks, so that won't help. Since we're still a LONG ways away from seeing the release of TMO, I think it's easy for some members here to get caught up in other things. The website willbe updated when either we get enough members to post their applications on our main forums, when Anon gets back, or when there's a significant amount of new info released about the game (however I could try and get the lone gunmen on the enemies section :D).

Let's see... as for what side we're fighting for... What side would you guys like to fight for? Post here or on our main forums. If we can come to some sort of concensus between the active members of the clan, we'll make it official. Hmm... think I've answered all the questions.... I suppose Reborn is dead, even before the game is released. It's too bad. I guess the adrenaline from the release of Revolutions has worn off on most of the 20 members who first signed up. Also, it's hard to keep everyone together and active when the game is so many months away from release (and even harder when the leader of the clan disappears).

I'm not going to join the lone gunmen just yet, as I'm still not entirely sure I understand what their whole clan is about. The concept of being a loner, yet being in a clan (***uming they do form a clan in game) is still not clicking in my head. If they make a formal clan inside the game, then that whole 'loner' part of their cause is obsolete. Then again, if they don't make a formal clan, then it's chaotic to keep in touch with one another and come to each other's aid... I also don't want to devote any more time to this clan stuff if it's going to fall apart. I've alrdy spent a good two nights, staying up till 4am or so, working on stuff for Reborn.

I'll consider it, Freddy, but won't make any rash decisions right now. I don't want to screw up again, you know?

yeah lol the 3 generals of the long gunmen (cyqu, HU and me) are from holland and most of the members are from america or a other county. so i do think it will be alittle difficult so get every one on-line at the same time.

When my Black Belt wears out, I buy a new one. Actually, if someone would show up with a belt like that on a judo-competition, where I am judging (and I will soon be judging my first tourmanents (hopefully ;))), I would ask him to use another belt.

No respectable martial artist allows any part of his clothing to wear out. It's a foolish attempt to intimidate others "Look; My belt is worn out, I train seven days a week, I'm unbeatable".

I see nothing wrong with replacing a black belt, or a red/white belt, when it's old. When a black belt has some inscriptions on it that are really valuable, I wouldn't even train with it :).

i'm at the moment not doing any martial arts sport, just some fitnes training to get my condition up and also i do power training (lol tp get my muscles bigger and stronger)

That's probably NOT what they wear for competitions; it's a shot from another movie they're working on.

Odd, isn't it, how not it's expected for martial artists to present themselves in spotless uniforms, freshly pressed and the like, when the whole history of the colored belt comes from it getting so dirty.

To keep it short, nearly everyone from Reb0rn has quit coming here and showing interest.
I haven't seen Anonymous in forever, have posted on the Reb0rn forum, and still there is a massive lack of interest. Personally, I think that the clan has died.
I'd rather not be a member of a dead body, so I'm just kind of chilling at Mobil ave. for right now...

hummm i mostly don't go into 1 server all the time. i go in to different servers (but also 3 out of 4 i got big ass f*cking lag. lol ad that pisses me off lol )
