Okay, I know it's a _little_ too early to be doing this but my anticipation for this game is growing greater and greater. I've decided to start a clan for this game.. This will be the official sign up.
After we get a handful of members we'll establish a name... But until the game comes out this'll merely be a discussion of further updates on the game.

But in the best interest of not being rude (:)) you'll have to pay a monthly fee. The fees for MMORPGs are usually 10-20 dollars a month. You give the company your, (or your parents if you're still a youngin) credit card info and all that good stuff. i think that our clan should have some kind of unique trend that no other clan has, some distinguishing sort of mark that we leave in our wake of kickingass. people should know when we strike and we should make our presence felt within the matrix Sure thing dude. I see that there's quite an interest already in this clan and I'm proud of it! All the names I have seen are good and have potential but how about we get several more members (dedicated and serious) then we'll come up with a name. Thanks. im sorry but im a little confused, i read ur definiton of a clan but ive never played an online game b4 (except counterstrike on my suitmates computer) is a clan just a group of people that are kinda like a gang? and how do u know that that will be possible considering we really dont know how the game is going to be structured?
but if everyone in the clan turns out to be cool and not asses then im in, but im not tryin to terrorize people, im tryin to woop some badguys(whoever they are) asses A clan in an online game is just a group of people that basically help each other out. They help you out with items if you don't have enough money, they've got your back if another clan tries to mess with you, and basically a clan just inspires fear into everyone (if they're alignment is dark).
And it will be possible.. There's nothing in the game that will restrict us from being in a clan or creating one. Trust me, I've played a few MMORPGS in my day. :) The thing that distinguishes a clan member from just an ordinary player is a prefix before his/her handle or username. For example, if we choose to use MxM or something like that then our player names would be :
MxM Bob1
MxM Daniel
MxM Anthony
You see the MxM? It just looks badass if you're in the game and you see like 10 people all together with that in their username. It strikes fear into people and is just so much fun. Plus there's a lot of benefits of being in a clan that you don't get when you're by yourself. Noone likes to be a loner! Hope this cleared things up. Since they're going to have PvP in this game our clan can even hold mini tournaments and the winner will get an item. Plus we can train with each other to get stronger and stuff like that. im glad that you like the name fallen angels! i came up with it because i tried to think of something intriguing without being too corny. i like your idea of having a high council and i would be proud to be a part of it. i beleive that 3 others should step forward aswell and the 5 of us can keep things running. however i dont want this to discourage other clan members into think that we are the bosses/kings. everyone who is a part of this clan will get equal say and equal changes to voice any opinions/suggestions. we are the fallen angels and we are undefeatable Yes yes.. Club_Hell i have a suggestion for making up TMO names when playing. since the clan is called the fallen angels we should have FallenAngel: at the beginning of each name, if this causes the name to be too long then FA: works. secondly, we should use our matrixmania usernames instead of making up new ones to keep things simple. every word in the name should be capitalized. also, i think that we should get rid of any numbers or underscores in names to look neater

p.s. we should start assigning positions and roles within our clan now that things are underway. The earlier the better i think because its important to see if a person who gets assigned a position can fullfill that role before the game actually starts. if that person is a slacker or a poorsport or just doesnt go online enough we should be able to identify the problem well before the game starts so we dont get scr*wed over early on. I think that it would be cool to have a high council of some kind as anonymous ealier suggested. i realize that some people might not want a role and may just want to go kick some @ss in the matrix and that is fine. I'm thinking that we should have 5 high council members to keep things in order and running. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE ANY SPECIAL POWERS. think of them as moderators who dont delete posts, they just keep things going. also, there are some smaller jobs that can be assigned. sending emails and such. as far as how we assign positions i suggest that we simply appoint ourselves a role unless someone has a serious concern or dissagreement. we dont know eachother well enough to know if we can handle our roles or not but i beleive that we can trust eachother until we all become better acquainted. Looking back at this board alone, i would suggest that maybe anoymous, neuromancer, erider, matrixbeleiver, and haxxor should be given trial positions as high councellors, simply due to their activity on this board. they seem dedicated. PLEASE noone take offense to this im not even remotely suggesting that you take this seriously, im just throwing things out to try and get some kind of system figured out. tell me what you think please and please dont be angry with me if i said something you didnt like, we're all friends here I wouldn't say that activity=dedication. I, myself, am totally dedicated, I just know that with school and everything, I won't have as much time as others may have. I was expecting like about five people total or something that would even beinterested to join since it is real early and we're not sure of when the game is coming out.

_____________________________ Yes, besides the Pagebuilder (Javabuilder) there is a (java-)program called ''filemanager'' , this is where I upload (mostly edited pictures with Photoshop) pictures into, you can also add pictures from within the Pagebuilder... it all shows itself... it's real easy, give it a try... it's for free! :-)
It could be handy to use some kind of drawingprogram in which you can edit surten pictures...

To answer some of your questions.. The animated .gifs we add text to and export from movies are used with two programs : (I use) Intervideo WinDVD5 - This program allows you to take quick screenshots of the movie you are watching. Each screenshot or frame can then be taken to another program and edited.
I then take these "frames" and open them up in JASC Animation Shop 3. From there you can choose the many animations they have.
Not that hard after the first couple times you do it. If you go to the Multimedia part of this site they have a step-by-step tutorial.
And, for the still pictures that are edited all you need is Paint Shop Pro. It's sort of tricky at first, but practice makes perfect. Hope this answered some of your questions. Or you can just open up Paint and use print screen.. next to F12 well im using the old-ass corel photopaint 8

In my prior experiences I have found that turning people away in the beginning is indeed a BIG mistake. There are always going to be people that just dissapear, lose interest, become a traitor. When this time arises you'll wish that you didn't reject those others who wanted to join. And besides, I don't see any point in stopping the recruiting. :)

For example: I could organize the eastern time team. Another member could be part of the GMT-6 to -8 or something like that. Utilizing these techniques, we could become a formidable team inside the Matrix.

thats a good point dude, however i should warn you that its still kinda early and we might wanna wait until its closer to launch and our clan has reached approximate capacity. i know how you feel the anxiety tho i want to do all this stuff to! its just that alot of things could go wrong or get messed up if we plan too early. your idea is definitely logical though and i fully agree, we should all post the times we can play and have timezone leaders. i can take care of easteratlantic time (usa east cost(massachusetts)) Cyqu, I think I've been cool about this for long enough but can you please stop advertising your clan on this thread? That sounds real good. I always liked Flash alot, but never had the chance to learn it. We'll touch base later and come up with something for the website. I need help w/ the site though, definitely. I suck at HTML. Yeah, I hate HTML too. I'll see if my buddy still has his web page creator program. If I remember correctly, it's really easy to use and the web pages look great, and of course, it'll translate what you make into HTML. Just so I know, what service are you using to host the site? Also, how much bandwidth do you get per month (or hour, etc.)?

I have a question though - Does anyone know if it's alright to use music from the the matrix soundtracks, and some clips from the movie? I have no clue as to the legal issues of these types of things, and I believe it would be alright (seeing as how this is non-profit and all), but I would just like to double check. If I use some clips from the movies, I could save myself A LOT of time. i wish i knew that also, on my page i wasnt sur if it was ok to use picutres without consent, but i hope it is, if not i might b in trouble

I started making the movie, but once I was about 1/4 of the way done, i noticed that the file was already too large... about 2 MB, which means that it could be like 5 MB by the time I'm done. So, with you dial-up peeps in mind, I decided to change the sequence again.
Now it should have the code trickling down, "The Matrix: REborn" appears, and then it says "Witness the greatest Matrix chapter ever - Your Own." After this, depending on how large the file is, I may or may not add more to it.
Also, Anon, if you could either PM me the username/password to access the website, or if you could give me your e-mail address, I might be able to show you guys a chunk of the intro later tonight. I think the site looks very good. it's simple yet sophisticated, combining the best of the Matrix online and web browsing (lol, WTF?).
One suggestion, though. I think if the reborn banner went in the middle, it would look nicer. Also, can the flash buttons be a bit bigger? Or is that the size limit for them?

Anywho, the flash intro is up... However I am having some problems with it. It's not that big of a file (only about 570kb) yet it seems to always take FOREVER to load. Tell me if you guys think it takes too long, I'll see later what I can do about it. Also, the flash intro isn't anything TOO special... as the game gets sooner to release, I'll try to conjure up a better intro (or if you guys think it looks horrible, I'll make a new one soon :D).

Go to the site and try to click a link. Notice how it opens up a whole new page. I don't want it to do this. There is an <iframe src> code where the page that is clicked on is supposed to be visible in the middle of the page (under the Neo tribute.) However this doesn't happen. Can someone w/ HTML knowledge help me out. Thx. What kind of frames do you use?
Cuz I think you should load the new page into a frame ...I didn't do HTML for a long time now... so excuse me if I'm outta date?!?!

Expect the site to become a lot better. I'm going to bed for now. So enjoy it until then. I'll finish 2-3 more pages of it tomorrow, also. Since it is, you know, Thankgsiving. :D

I need help with the information on the site. If you see a category (example : Purpose, Weaponary, History) you'd like to add to then please just send me a PM and I'll submit it into our story line. Remember, we must make REb0rn's story line deep and very interesting. We must captivate the hearts of Matrix fanatics!
Also, I'm going to need alot of pics that correspond with each category. Some images of weapons, people demonstrating different fighting styles, pics we can use for our ship, and things of that sort.
It's all coming together now. The whole site should be completed in about a week or so. If you have any comments on it or think certain things should be changed than just fill me in on it... I have about 2 hours till our Thanksgiving plans begin, so I'll see if I can get the flash intro up by then. I'm also gonna try to brush up on my HTML, because yahoo page builder could never do something that good hehe. Oh, and lastly:
Happy Thanksgiving all! *sigh* It's the trickling matrix code that's killing the flash intro. It just takes up too much freakin space (The file is about 500 kb with the code, and without that little part with the code trickling down, it's 50 kb). I'm going to have to make a different flash file, and it will have to be a lot less graphic intensive (so no matrix code).
Any ideas on what I can do now? I probably won't be able to start on the new intro till late tonight or tomorrow morning, so throw out some ideas.
I'm thinking perhaps we here the oracle say "Everything that has a beginning... has an end" and then the screen flashes "Everything that has an end, has a new beginning..." From there I don't know what to do... Ideas, anyone? When are you going to ask us to send you our character bios/other things about us Anonymous? I like the background sound of the intro.. What is it? I promise I won't use it for the lone gunmen, too much :D. Lol, the name of the song is "navras." :)
I put up what I have so far of the new intro. I'm only about half way done with it, but I figured I'd let you guys see what I have so far and take in some feedback. Do tell me if you have more problems with it loading.

This site is going to be the bomb diggity when I'm finished with it. Mwuahaha.
Oh, and it will be mandatory to fill out the applications on the site. Just copy and paste it and send it to me.. There is a link on the application section of the site. Thanks. Yea, the page is coming along nicely. Thank you to TINM for making the Flash Intro. That music alone gets me so hyped up! And I liked the, "Every end has a new beginning." Great stuff.
