Neo MUST be dead. Here's why.

Neo is an anomaly, and this created Smith. When the equation is balanced (Smith absorbed Neo) there was balance in the Matrix and both of them got destroyed.

Thus, if Neo was to return, the imbalance would return in the Matrix. So, Neo ain't ever gonna return. What do you guys think?

I think imbalance is good.

Neo DIDNT create Smith, Smith was an agent of the Matrix. When Neo went inside Smith, he showed that Smith was an outdated version of the Agent, so he faced deletion or exile. Exile he chose. And by Neo becoming the One (he had to die first), the equation is no longer 0=0, but A + 0=0 where A cant equal 0. This as you know is an unbalanced equation. So when Neo destroyed Agent Smith, he is no longer an agent of the matrix and Neo and Smith integrated, causeing some of Smith to be over written with what im going to call the Neo Protocol. This causes Smith to become the opposite of Neo and thus balancing the equation, for A + B = 0, where B = the additive identiy of A, or the negative version of A. When Smith absorbed Neo, A is gone so it would B = 0, but B was greater than 0 so the equation is now B = 0 for B>0 but this is mathmatically unsound and so B must = 0 and so Smith ceases to exist and what seems to happen is the Matrix reverts.

But if the Matrix did revert where are all the people? This may be that Smith is still copied over the minds of everyone connected to the Matrix that isnt a program, aka Sati, Seraph, Architect, kitty. This would require that Neo still be alive, in some sort or another.

i definitely agree with this, and i think its one of the best arguments as to why neo is now dead (physically at least) and hes never gonna come back

but, icy toast, its impossible to prove it mathematically, u just cant do it. as for ur actual theory, the word u were looking for is "additive inverse" by the way, an additive identity is always 0, cuz thats the # that can always be added to "a" and u still have "a". I dont think thats wut u meant.

But what about the oracle? If your theory is true I wonder what happened to the arch? If he tried to balance the equation and the oracle was the one to try to unbalance it what happened to him. Because if your theory is true then after the oracle was changed the architect had no other purpose since there was no one to bring balance.

I think Neo's purpose at first was the unbalancing of The Matrix. He was the anomoly that disrupted the Matrix. The imperfection of every human being caused the downfall of the Matrix but I assumed that Neo was supposed to balance the Matrix. Well that's what I thought before I saw Revolutions and after that conversation about balance, I totally got confused.

I believe the purpose of the one was to bring the downfall of the matrix or something like that (m1). But as soon as he destroyed smith he brought on another purpose. Remember smith in m2 saying things are not happening like before. And the one was a culimination of all the unbalanced equations in the matrix. Like the architect said if he would continue to go unchecked he would bring the downfall of the matrix.
If neo chose the door the arch would have balanced the equation, but because neo chose door number 2, he continued to unbalance things until smith started to take over, he was not the positive or the negative in the equation but, lets say, the X. The unaccounted for. He changed everything so that the machines had to make a deal.
Does that make a little bit more sense?

"the one wasnt meant to end anything"-this came from neo himself, he is just a system of control, i really dont undertand that whole conversation about equations, but doesnt it seem like if the architect n oracel are trying to balance(architect)/unbalance(oracle) the equation isnt it saying that the architect is using smiith do balance it and the oracel is using neo to unblance it

but i do know this, neo did not create smith because he is the anomoly, smith becaseu who he was because of the whole neo jumping through him, and them copying/imprinting on each other, the revolution really began there,

A+0=0 is actually easy to solve, I think. A+0-0=0-0 is the first step, so then we get A=0, since subtracing 0 from 0 dosen't really affect 0. This may be looking at it to mathematicly, but I don't beleive in this balance idea. The Oracle created unbalance, eg. The One, and all the previous ones never had as powerful an arch rival we ever hear about. Their does not need to be Balance in the matrix, because when the Architect made the Matrix with all his balance and numbers, it seemed to me that the Oracle was needed, because chaos must exist within any system, lest the system become to ordered and grind away into perfection, and we have heard how the people acted toward perfection. Neo could come back, but I think he is part of the computer now, as we have seen the last scene with Neo's corpse glowing like the computer; Hence, they are joined.

That's irrelevant here, you should know better than this. Just ignore and report it, but no, you really have to reply and continue the flames. He's just doing his job, as Funkyhorror already pointed out. You're breaking so many rules here and if someone has a different opinion you start flaming... And please stop those "I hate you" messages...:o

Getting back on topic:

I personally think Neo is dead! Smith absorbed Neo like everyone else he did, therefor erasing all of the original Neo. Then the machine deleted Smith from the Matrix since they had basically control over Smith now that he absorbed Neo and all the smiths blew up, yet the Oracle Smith, the oracle layed there since I think that was the original and all powerful Smith which was just using her mind and when he died, her body went back to normal form leaving her lay there. The Machines carried Neo away, always remembering a human who sacrificed his life for the Machines and Humans as a couple. :D

You'll have to interact with me whether you like it or not. I have chosen to do this in public because after PM'ing you about this in the past you still think you need to continue your quest against new members. Talking to you is like bashing your head against a brick wall, you're not budging. We can ask you to tone it down, but you just (repeatedly) ignore it because you feel this is what you need to do. First thanks for reading thru the stuff above to find the real answer to Neo's life on scorched earth. He is alive and the equation is balanced in the matrix. Some of his code had a purpose to return to the source but his real life did not need to end with that. The matrix and the real world are two separte places.

I think neo is possibly still alive... Mainly because the Oracle is still a functioning program and she was absorbed. To me Neo far exceeds the abilties of the Oracle, generally speaking. However, maybe, he could be dead because he is after all, human, and the Oracle was after all a program from the machine world. So i don't know.

I disagree. Remember in the M1, Morpheus said "the body cannot live without the mind"? That means if he dies in the Matrix (which he did), he dies in the real world.

I don't know what was it with light coming out of his real world body, but I'm pretty sure he died in the Matrix. Even if he killed Smith and didn't die, he would become somehting without purpose.

The Machine Ruler guy would delete him, no matter what. And I don't think the machines would like a puny human to breech their city and return to laugh about it.

I don't think you understand most of what's going on in the movies. The machines aren't evil, they won't delete neo just because they can. And humans don't need purpose.

..but I'm sorry to dissappoint you. If you watch carefully the last scene of the Revo. (the part that the machine drag away Neo)...while doing that I URGE you to notice the part where Neo is looking at the machine in gold colored light. At this point it is obvious that Neo is not dead. Smith IS a program but Neo is a Human. ......

You obviously haven't seen the Animatrix. In the 2nd Renassiance, the machines (after winning the war) are shown to have tortured and "inflicted great pain and misery on man".

Also, they conducted sadistic experimants on humans and even during battle, their savagery can be seen.

And the Machine Ruler also didn't seem too kind when he saw Neo come to broker a peace deal.

I would just like to address the fact that there will be no 4th movie. The actors already said that they won't do any other movies with the matrix, and I think I read somewhere that the WB's said they won't make any more movies. Obviously we are all aware of the Animatrix 2 and TMO, which the Wachowski's are avidly participating in...but there is no 4th movie.

Plus think about it, sure they could make a 4th movie about another place or time in the matrix not relating to the story we know, but it would ruin it. They won't turn this into Star Wars, that is: after making three good movies wait and then start a series of more. I hope that they don't make a 4th movie at least...in my opinion it would ruin this story.

But then again...I probably would still see it :D.

Ok, seriously, the way the movie ended was great. Think about, we are able to draw our own conclusions. We can envision the movie ending anyway we want to. Besides, the enigmatic ending fits with the way the whole trilogy was set up.

We don't know how everything really got started, like how the machines took over and why or how the first person was able to escape The Matrix.

We don't know how everything really ends. See, it all fits together like one merry little puzzle. But if a 4th movie came out I wouldn't complain!

we do know how everything got started, the animatrix was clear about that, and its also obvious how the firt people escaped the matrix, in the first matrix(that has choice) the one set them free
