I believe that at the end of the movie, the Oracle was referring to Jesus Christ....the thing that Neo symbolized and not Neo himself. Since the Wachowskis are obviously religious...they're professing their belief that our savior in our world will return...and I am happy about this fact.

Neo is better off dead and he must not return. RIP.

This is an excellent synopsis of it. Personally I believe that Neo in human form is most certainly dead. His physical self could not have survived what happened. Regardless, that doesn't mean that he won't be reincarnated in some form or another. It is sci-fi after all.

As for your thread, I believe he is physically dead and remains somehow connected to the matrix, and will, if needed, return. However since the the cycle started over, I believe the person who is needed is the next "one" in the cycle, not neo.

fact#4 ... he is still glowing in the end.. so he must be alive.. again in some coma maybe, but very alive..
