THe major theme of Revolutions is symbiosis, or getting along. The machines can not live without the humans(power), while the humans must rely on the matrix in order to keep mankind alive(There is no sun;as a result, freeing all the minds would cause a very very large food shortage with no possible way of making enough food for everyone because there is no sun for crops and no animals living.)
