In Enter the Matrix, the Oracle states that she believes Sati will change the Matrix world and the machine world forever.....
She has no purpose, but she can manipulate the matrix already...
Could she be the one to end the war?
Sati was never in ETM, trust me I have beaten it way too many times to forget who is on it. Sati is only introduced in Revolutions.
I think that Sati holds a key, but I think Neo will one day come back in a physical form, and end the war, once and for all.
Sati wasn't in ETM but she was mentioned
My friends & I are also debating on her purpose or what relevance is she in the Matrix. That's why we think that there could possibly be another movie that will answer that question.
I've stated my little idea in another thread, but I couldn't help but think that it has relevence here too. I think that Sati's role is juz to tell us that programs without a purpose or who no longer have a purpose will be deleted from the Matrix (conversation between Neo and the Indian guy in Train Station).
I also think Smith was deleted not because Neo sacrificed himself, but because he no longer had a purpose anymore. Since Smith become a rogue program, I cannot be certain what his purpose is, but I think it was either to destroy Neo or to duplicate himself to every inhabitant in the Matrix ("Like what I've done to the place?" - Smith).
You sort of got it right. Smith was able to be deleted under two terms : no longer had a purpose after Neo died, the machines had a connection to Smith due to Neo being jacked in by Deus Ex Machina.
And I too believe that Sati is an essential part when it comes to the end of the Machines.
Smith didn't have a purpose in 2&3, that's what made him free.
Smith: "We're here to take away what you took from us, purpose!"
Smith was "compelled to disobey" and knew "what he was supposed to do, but didn't." Instead he faces exile.
I don't really know how you all figure he has a purpose, he is there because Neo is. Without Neo, there is no Smith, and same other way around. How he came back after Neo destroyed him is questionable, but why does he call himself free? As he states later, his purpose was taken away.
Why is Sati believed to be the one who can change the Matrix and the real world forever? If the Oracle thinks so, then I'd take her word for it...
Morpheus said the One would be inside the Matrix.
Techniacally, Sati was born inside the Matirx.
I think Sati's significance is a hint for more to come. You cannot state "the child is going to change your world and ours forever!" and then proceed to give that child (Sati) as little screen time as we have seen in M3.
The Matrix saga is going to be continued, to be sure. I don't know under which form, but I hope another film. It's the most powerful medium and makes the most money.
yea ok smith had a purpose but not like msot of u are thinking in my opinion, he had his own purpose, not a purpose given to him by the soruce(or whatver/whoever), so jsut caseu he killed neo and lsot his own purpose doesnt mean that the source knew he didnt have a purpose anymore so it deleted him, it just deleted him because it had a chance to since he was connected to neo and neo was connected to the source
i really like how sati was tlaked about in ETM but what does it all mean, the WB's are obviously going to expand on this
I HOPE

The war is already over! When Neo helped the Source to destroy Smith, that action indicated to the machines that the humans were willing to now live in symbiosis with them, not engage in conflict once they have been freed from the matrix. That is why the sentinels return to 01 and dont erradicate Zion. Also, the architect confirms this when he agrees that he will let people go from the matrix when they are ready. Once humankind has accepted that the machines and humans must live in harmony(allusion to the Senator talk in the Boiler Room of Zion during Reloaded), the machines have no real reason to hold the humans incappacitated.

And the energy thing?
the humans originally set out to free everyone, not to pause the war. the war will proceed, and there is no feeling of finality at the end of the film.
Neo negotiated PEACE. Hence the cessation of the war. Hence the Architecht asking "How long do you think this peace will last?"
Ala the war is over. At least the one they were fighting.
Sati: She is important because she has no purpose. Hence she will be allowed to be creative, think outside of the box as it were. This goes against the grain of all programs. (I.e. we are all here to do what we are all here to do)
"you want let it happen you can't.You need human beings to survive"
" There is a level of survival we are willing to accept."
I think sati might be the first program to have love. And she might teach the machines how to love.
programs loved before Sati....
Shes the first program created out of love. She had no purpose
View Full Version : Sati's importance said by the oracle
The machine mainframe AI - Neo left alone?
