In Matrix 3, why don't any of the machines bother Neo while he walks to the Major Machine? Does this have anything to do with him being left alone by the machine when he wakes up in the pod in the first movie, or is it all because they know he is the One?
If the machine in the first movie and the ones in the 3rd left him alone, is it possible they knew he was needed by the machines rather than just to destroy Smith? Possibly having to use his code to reload the matrix or something?
I'm not sure about the third one... maybe because they are just little tiny machines... but still, in the first, it makes sense to me that when someone wakes up, they just automatically un-hook them... or something like that. There is no real reason to leave a human awake, so they drain them into that "sewer" place, where they probably are expected to die. Neo ended up there in the first one, via that tube. But thats where Morpheus and the gang used that grapple hook on the Neb to lift him in.
But that machine in the 1st one grabbed him by the throat and then let him go... What made the machine do that?
In speculation, since I am just guessing here.
I think the machines in M3 werent lethal at all, they were probably there to recreate a human like atmosphere. i.e. bugs.
Yes, like when the Humans were in control, the bugs existed then, but the machines were designed by humans, so they could have wanted to rebuild a world like our's, even with bugs. I mean, the little machines in M3 were bug-looking.
In M1 I think that the machine that grabbed Neo by his neck was doing exactly what Exilajei said, they were dropping him into the sewer. The machine grabbed Neo's throat to prevent him from moving, so it could unplug the plug in Neo's head. If Neo's head wasn't held firmly, then his neck probably would have snapped from the machine doing that. I also think it has something to do with Neo's importance to the machines.

the machine triggered something to unhook all those thick wires that were plugged into him because right after the machine let go the wires started popping off
um...maybe I'm wrong but I thought the machine that released Neo was being radio controlled by the crew of the Nebuchanezzer....I'll rewatch it but I could've sworn they show them bringing in the machine in the background of one of those scenes as they're bringing in Neo...
Regardless...as far as why the machines didn't attack Neo...one could say that they were simply not programmed for that purpose...but the obvious answer would be he contained necessary information in his head that would affect the Machine world should he be killed and that information lost..since it was a piece of the Matrix itself
I think the sphere that talked to Neo was in control and it had everything hold back. Especially when Neo said
"I've come here to say something, after that you can... (( can't remember sorry))
It wanted to hear Neo out. It had Neo circled by sentinels right before he said that.
that spere which really wasnt) was the machine mainframe that runs the matrix thats why he could plug neo in yes the mainframe did hold them back just like he held the sentinels back in zion, and those tiny machines that made his face werent sentinels much too small
