Smith Death

how do we know for sure smith is dead it looked like he died the exact same way as he did in matrix 1 exploded or something and what happened when he copied himself to neo did he do the same thing he did to bane, smith could very well still be alive like how he came back the last time refusing to be deleted or whatever or he could be living inside neo now

but smith has no purpose he was trying to destroy the matrix or at least take it over, and like neo said once he finishes in the matrix he will escape to the real world, all smith wanted was power lots of it, what kind of purpose is that to destroy everything?

I believe that Smith was resurrected because he had one purpose: To destroy The One.

well it seems for now that he achived his goal because all we know neo is now dead so maybe smith is also

I don't understand a lot of what happened--I know some of you can help. Who was the god guy whom Neo spoke with? Why didn't he just kill Neo? If Smith dies because Neo isn't there, then why not just kill Neo to begin with. Who needs to make some big agreement to send Neo in just to be killed? What was up with Smith realizing what was going on right before the end?

Smith most likely would've continued on even if Neo was killed. Smith was no longer an agent of the system and had developed his own plans. He apparently took over the whole matrix and if it weren't for Neo stopping him, he would've tried to take over the real world as well. How exactly he was planning to do this...I don't know.

As for Smith knowing what was going to happen at the end of Revolutions, that particular Smith that Neo was fighting was the Oracle's body before he took her over.

Smith realized he had killed himself when he realized Neo had sacrificed himself, not surrendered

When Neo jumped into Smith in the first film Smith more than likely ended up in Mobil Avenue...or at least was scheduled to go there and eventually to the Source so his information could be recycled for something else....but as he says he chose not to...and returned to the Matrix...

When the same thing happened in Revolutions...Neo was connected to the Source and they were able to delete Smith and reincorporate both him and the code in Neo's mind back into the mainframe and reloaded the Matrix...so Smith was gone...

that god guy was the machine mainframe basically the architech in his "real" form why didnt he kill neo because at that moment he needed neo's help to destroy smith, and smith wouldnt have just died because neo wasnt there he would have escaped to the real world like neo said would happen.
