"In memory of Thomas A. Anderson"

Vaitork

Hey! Can someone tell me if this is true?

"At the end of the movie where the Oracle is talking to the Architect, there is a plaque on the bench she is sitting on which says "In memory of Thomas A. Anderson"."

I found it in Movie Mistakes, here:

http://www.moviemistakes.com/film3297/trivia

I didn't see it so i'd like to know if it's true.. If it is then.. Shall we say farewell to good old Tom? I hope this hasn't been discussed before..

OH yes boys and girls, IT IS TRUE! AND YOU CAN SEE IT FOR YOURSELF! On the special features of the reloaded DVD, there are several sections of an interview with a guy (some special effects coordinator or something, the name escapes me), sitting on that EXACT park bench. You can clearly see the plaque that cleary states: "IN MEMORY OF THOMAS A. ANDERSON"
redqueen

his name is john gaeta, which special feature is it?
jimmerb83

He appears in both the "Anotomy of the Freeway Chase" and the one i think called "A look at the Matrix Phenomenon"

It is not just on the Reloaded DVD, it is also in the Revolutions movie itself, I had to squint to see it, but I found it, it is on the bench the Oracle is sitting on at the end of Revolutions, when she is talking to the Arcitecht.

uh...yeah, if you actually read the posts on this thread, you would see that we knew that already. I was just saying that you could see this parkbench in the Reloaded special featurs if you want to see it right now.

I hoped the day would never come when the matrix trilogy had to end, please tell me i am not the only one who will still like it after everyone has seen revolutions

You read about the bench, but not this:

The ending of Neo is remarkebly similar to the end of King Arthur in the Arthurian Legends. Arthur killed Mordred, leader of the army that was tearing apart Arthur's kingdom, in a one on one fight, but was mortally wounded. He was then borne on a barge to the "Isle of Avalon" to be healed. It also says that he would 'sleep until he was needed again'. Neo is "mortally wounded" (has his 'self' nearly destroyed) in the one on one battle with Smith, the leader of the army that is tearing apart the Matrix, and ends up being borne away, with us not truly knowing if he is alive or dead, to be 'healed' of his wound. The Oracle/Seti also says that they "might someday see him again".

I don't know if that's true or not, but it makes a lot more sense than "he's gone forever because his name was on a bench...".

This quote, from the movie mistakes website, was discussed on a thread a little earlier
