sandshark Any guesses why M3 is titled "Revolutions"? I keep on thinking of something going full circle like the hands on the clocks they ofen keep showing. And why is it plural? //\\// E () sounds like such a simple question but it has me stumped now aswell... Neo's_Son Its supposed to be Like Matrix reloaded, as in the program is reloaded, and revolutions as in the Revolution aganst the Machines sandshark Originally posted by Neo's_Son Its supposed to be Like Matrix reloaded, as in the program is reloaded, and revolutions as in the Revolution aganst the Machines Revolution in that sense would imply they overthrew the machines --- it was more like they were spared by the machines. And it's only a truce. Think of Zion as a terrorist state --- are they going to be happy as long as their is a Matrix period. That's why the Architect is skeptical about the peace. I hear what you are saying -- but why plural? x<N e 0>x Revolution = drastic change. Plural because the machines are done wreaking havoc and the one's purpose has been fulfilled. Spyder3264 Revolution: 1a. Orbital motion about a point, especially as distinguished from axial rotation: the planetary revolution about the sun. b. A turning or rotational motion about an axis. c. A single complete cycle of such orbital or axial motion. 2. The overthrow of one government and its replacement with another. 3. A sudden or momentous change in a situation: the revolution in computer technology Blind_Seer That sounds correct to me, fitting with the fact there was a drastic and monentous change: Neo's offer of peace. The only problem there is that ever since Neo chose the doorway to Trinity its been a drastic or momentous change, so why call this one Revolutions? whitefire A revolution in the way that the machines think, and a revolution for the humans of zion. Phoenix46 Although I have not myself made up my mind about exactly what the Wachowski brothers are trying to convey, it seems to me that many might have missed the significance of the first definiton. I myself would much rather that Neo and the rest of this cycle be unique. I had hoped that "Revolutions" was referring to the destruction of the machines and Zion escaping from the prison it currently exists in and returning to the surface. But if in fact nothing was unique about this "anomaly", if Neo was simply another link in the chain, then definiton 1c seems to me to be fitting for ending of the Matrix Trilogy. "One single complete cycle..." The One was found, was lead step by step to the intended destination, and did the exact same thing as his 5 predecesors (sp?). And so the trilogy has been one complete cycle... Just a little something to consider. silentdeath i couldnt agree more with pheonix planet Originally posted by Phoenix46 Although I have not myself made up my mind about exactly what the Wachowski brothers are trying to convey, it seems to me that many might have missed the significance of the first definiton. Why to give M3 this very similar title? The main idea in M2 was that future has run in circles for a very long time. This time we are expected to do something different to change it everything. So the definition No.3 is the correct for me. I can see 3 substantial changes: 1. Programs can feel love and make something that has no purpose at all Sati. 2. The war is over. 3. The new Matrix was created and this one is absolutely different from previous ones its not the prison. View Full Version : Revolutions? |
