Here we go with the scriptures again, but here are more paralells

May the Lord forgive me for recording these secrets,but I have been driven by Torment,led by angelic dreams.Therefore now, in holy awe, I take up my pen to record what the seven thunders(The ones) uttered, in this, the last of my writings: the Eighth scroll. They spoke (the seven thunders) often ten signs that shall take place before the Lord (Neo?) comes.

The first: In the last days the 2 sons of the infidel lord shall be struck down..........Tank and Dozer?

The second: False peace-makers shall be put to death: in their safest places, in their most secret council chambers.....Zion?

The third: The Great Traitor shall be assasinated......Cypher?

The forth: The food that we eat and the water that we drink will become sour, bitter in our mouths............People being freed by Neo and realizing it was all a big lie.

The fifth: The people shall starve rather than eat......haven't figured it out yet.

The sixth: The people shall live in fear of the elements......The sentinals are about to break through to Zion.

The seventh: The proudest of mans works, the those things by which he seeks to make himself a god, shall be destroyed........When the war first broke out between the A.Is and the humans.

The eight: Warm places shall become icy wildernesses: cool oases shall turn to destructionand desert......................The falling of Zion.

The ninth:Great stones shall strike the earth with fire, death shall fall from the sky................................Zion is gone.

The tenth: Christs covering shall be removed from those who have wrongly taken it. The Keeper shall keep it holy. And then the End. The awful horror of the ungodly shall come.....................The ultimate battle between Smith and Neo.


In a text I have read John of Patmos was also called the sleeper
In greek morpheous also means the sleeper


Whatch think? oh it also states that the ten events don't happen one after the other but say the third will come before the first sign.

You ask for thoughts - here they are. (I need to read up on John.)

The first: Who is Tank and Dozer's father? How do we know he is infidel? Also, a lot of days follow Dozer's death (we don't even know when Tank dies), and the end (otherwise why "the last days"?) is not here yet. I think these sons are the white guys, the French guy's (damn, forgot his name again) "sons". The French guy is definitely infidel, and at the end of M2 there are now only 24 hours left (if the twins even died).

The third: I can't help thinking the traitor is The Oracle - just intuition, no facts to support it.

The fourth: couldn't agree with you more!

The fifth: perhaps spiritually they shall starve: what they fought for was a lie - no fuel for the spirit anymore.

The seventh: maybe the very building of Zion, as you say. As Adam ate the apple, he tried to become "like God". As humans built Zion, they thought they were capable of being free.

The tenth: I am not sure what John means. If he means what I think he means, those who pretended to believe the Prophecy shall be punished. Some kind of good will battle Smith (un-human, un-machine).

It seems to coincide with your last statement: if my intuition is right - the Oracle is not yet dead.

However, what is the meaning of love then? I know the Bibles are not big on love, but Greek mythology is (and there is a lot of reference to the Greeks). The love scenes definitely had their place in M2, and Neo even "decides" the fate of Zion based on his own love for Trinity (unless Trinity is not a girl, but the Holy Trinity, thus his love for the Christian God), so shouldn't "love conquer all"?

Since we might be talking about the scriptures here... It is such an obvious parallell, but I have not seen it made here yet.

The first version of the matrix was a paradise - humans rejected it (Smith says in M1 "the enitre crops were lost", and the Architect confirms it). So was the Garden of Eden - Adam and Eve rejected Paradise by eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge. Then they had to go into the real world.

When did God create men? On which day? The One is on the 6th version now...

Thanks for adding some to this thread. I think cypher was the traitor though, and we don't know who Tank and Dozers father was so he could have been an infidel.

Were onto the seventh one now, not sixth, so imagine him (Neo) as already linked with the six.

The signs keep repeating themselves a bit, about the fall of Zion, but there is some reasoning behind it and definate paralells.

I disagree with your theory here, I believe that the people will find out that they were actually eating other humans, only dead ones. That alone would be "sour" and "bitter."

Everything else is pretty accurate.

i think that this hole gospel/matrix tag team is going to deep. the wachowski brother had some and only some insperation to have some of their desiscions made about this movie. i know they didnt read all the gospel and revert it into their matrix movie.

Its a simple movie line like any other movie...

intro
character intros
plot
conflict
climax
ending


the matrix is a very well put together movie following these basic fundimentals. its that simple.

The traitor is definately cypher and not the oracle. Iv'e also read in another post that morpheuos is the traitor. How?

I wonder as well where the source of the original post came from - and I think y'alls reading WAY to much into it. I think the biblical connection serves only as a back drop. Other than similarities in the 'roles' of some of the characters, I don't see a lot to think it has that great an influence over the storyline. No moreso than would the books the actors were required to read prior to opening the script. (Simulacra and Simulation, Out of Control)

Regardless of the source of the original post, I see the correlations that the author is trying to make, and they seem an extreme 'stretch' at best.

MRANDERSON..... outa all due respect ,my other post was reffering to the PEOPLE who's whole life is based on the matrix. I wasnt POINTING FINGERS at anybody cause im not like that! And you were defending it like the matrix WAS your life! Life is not all about the matrix...it is just a nice arse hobby! I am one of the biggest matrix fans out there so i know how addicting it is bro. i know people try to compare scriptures to it and i know why. Sometimes its just going to far, thats the point i am trying to get across.

So next time dont diss the gospel just cause u thought "I" was being offensive, cause i was not.

I really doubt they read that much of the bible and other holy scriptures to write the story to the matrix. A lot of what is said in this thread is a stretch.

The basic ideas: yes. Specifics out the whazoo: no.

and what point was he trying to prove? I would like to know, its interesting.
