When Trinity and Neo are flying away from the sentinels in Revolutions why do they fly straight up into the clouds? Also all the sentinels that were hanging onto the hovercraft just fall off why is this? Also why do the engines quit and have to be restarted.
This is my first post so be kind!
this is because over the years since the sky has been destroyed some kind of electric current has formed in the clouds. It is kind of like an EMP causing all machines to shut off.
Animatrix explains it. The humans scorched the sky because they felt that the machines could no longer survive w/out an energy source as abundant as the sun.
If you've read Icarus, this is the allusion they were making. Icarus was a prisoner, who could never escape. When he finally tried, he flew away, but came too close to the sun, and his wings melted and he crashed.
The sun in Icarus represented total truth, total vision to the outside world he had been imprisoned from. He finally sees what exists outside, and metaphorically, cannot believe it, causing him to fall.
Based on these cool previous notes, do you guys think there's any correlation between the sun Neo and Trinity saw and the Sun the little weather girl makes at the end of the movie?
Would you say the Oracle admires the sun because it represents peace in the real world or because programs (machines) recognize the sun as a source of power?
