I'm not saying this is the number one meaning but, it's a pretty good take on it. At the end of Revolutions, when the Oracle in Smith says "Everything that has a beginning has an end", she means that Neo and Smith's time is up. Their purpose is over. As we all know, especially from Reloaded. Without purpose, a program must be deleted. Which is exactly what the machine who jacks Neo in does,y'know, when he sends a bolt of electricity into Neo after he becomes Smith. He is being deleted. That was the only way to delete Smith, and Neo knew that. Of course to prove this even further, the Machine says, "It is done". The two programs that were unbalancing the equation of the Matrix had to be deleted. The Matrix trilogy is and always was about Neo's journey. The Matrix-his birth, The Matrix Reloaded-his life, The Matrix Revolutions-his death. I have other this to discuss. But for now I just wanted to give my take on Revolutions. Oh yea, didn't u guys love the throwback to the original Matrix and the whole black cat deja vu when "they" change something. I thought that was pretty cool. Let me know whatcha think. Lata.
