gender indicator

can we get a gender indicator? sometimes i cant figure out whether to call someone a chick or a dude... just a small icon with a guy or a girl in a skirt would do or even just a pink or blue square. anything please... heh. does anyone else want this?

That sounds like a good idea. I usually end up just saying "hey you, yeah you, that's a good point."

not everybody says their gender;) I think there are at the moment more important things, that need to be done by the mods or Yakov:)

Why not use the male gender thing for males (a little o with an arrow) a female gender thing for females (little o with a cross underneath it) an a combination of them both for whoever doesn't tell their gender!

Sounds kind of neat, but what about people's ideas? Aren't those more important than what their sex is? And what's next, race and ethnicity icons? Although I do like the idea, there should probably be an option to not say what your gender is if you don't want to.

I think you are going too far with the racist thing, i think its a great idea!!

just wanted to know whether i was talking to a guy or a girl...

and with this idea you could select: male, female, undisclosed. i don't care whether you're a guy or a girl or whatever country you're from. i just want to know more about who i'm talking to.

I doubt there will be any forms of discrimination, and don't forget that anyone can allready view the profile, so the choice remains whether you want the person to know or not.

Maybe we should make it like the location, so you can type it in. Allowing me to type

and no one is whyning about the location. Most people just fill in something like "in the machineworld". Why not allow something like that for gender?
