There is only one way

There is only one way out of our inevitable plight : we have to love machines and guide them.

Sucks, that no one has replied in to this in 10 days.

This is actually a valid sentiment. If we treat the machines with respect, then hopefully they will do the same in kind. Although this is not necessarily guaranteed. There is always the possibility that because it (A.I.) is not human it won't understand or respond to kindness or respect.

Maybe we should just blow them all up and dump them in the Grand Canyon and all the spill over in the ocean. Ok, seriously, there is no way to know how to treat A.I. We'll just have to wait and see.

Besides, if we blew up all the machines I wouldn't be able to have these stimulating conversations...

i think that we should give AI the respect it deserves because it is an amazing advancement to have...

but i wouldn't expect AI to have the same sort of feelings towards us because it does not feel fear or love or any emotion at all...

i dont think anyone will be sure how to treat AI to be honest because although it is a marvel, it is also a fear to many people..
Morkeleb

I just want to say I'm all for A.I., but if it goes postal on humanity it would be a good idea to get rid of it. Maybe not, but I'm not willing to risk my life on it. "Damn computers [smacks monitor] piece of crap keeps glitching [gets up and kicks it]" Like I was saying how it some love...
phaz0r

i wouldn't say love, but respect is more the word i would use.. mind you, if we begin to show it love and it does begin to get hostile, then it may understand of our greatest strengths, and weaknesses!

but there isn't much point in worrying because no one know's what the future holds..

I keep trying to tell you guys...Madame Cleo

The woman is phenomenal she knows all. LOL!!

Seriously, phaz0r, you're right. We don't know what the future holds. There are all kinds of possibilities. Let's just hope for the best. The risk is what makes this such an intriguing prospect. The potential for danger and failure make this the most worthwhile thing I think humanity has done in a long time.
phaz0r

thats true, very true!

i have come to a conclusion, everything we do does start with a decision or a risk..

eg. you take a risk every day you get in a car, but you make the decision to do so..

eg. (karate) if you are sparring and you decide to attack you are making that decision to do so, you could be puttin your self in great danger or you could be on a win..

does this make sense?
