some time ago I posted about what I thought was going on in reloaded's ending. All I have to say is Booo Yahh
heres how my post went.
I tend to look at bane cutting his own hand simply to be a move by agent smith to assure himself he is in the real world. Humans in the matrix were enabled with the ability to "download" and learn things so wouldn't it make sense that a mind could be infected with a virus or hacked much like the matrix itself. We've seen neo, trinity and others download programs on Kung Foo and still know them once they enter the real world. As for neo being able to stop the sentinels in the real world wouldn't be be able to assume that in the same way bane is infected, having a direct connection to agent smith in the matrix, neo having stated that he has a connection with agent smith, thus being able to appear wherever neo is, first scene containing neo, he could use this connection to access the matrix from outside it. Kind of like using a cell phone to access the net. Neo may be the only one who can realize this because he definately is the one. He hacks the matrix using his connection with agent smith causing the sentinels to stop. This realization is probably a sort of sensory overload causing neo to fall into a coma. Maybe not even a coma but he may be in the matrix as we watch. We notice that when the characters are in the matrix they appear to be asleep, much the same way both neo and bane look at the end of the movie. Neo may be in the matrix at the end while his body is in a "coma." we must keep in mind that both two and three are the same movie cut in half explaining why we get no understanding why neo is in his coma. Good ending making us worry but coming full circle once the next movie starts.
