agent smith?

how did agent smith come back to life to begin with
he says neo set him free
does this mean any agent neo kills will comeback to life and will be able to copy people

I have no words.

Smith is now an Exile. Because him refusing to go back to the mainframe. His ability to copy some of his sourcecode in other peoples brains/ programms' code is a result of being destroyed (not killed) by Neo btrying to destroy Smith by making his code unfunctional (jumps into him).

As a theory brought up by Smith himself in reloaded, the effect was another: The sourcecodes mixed somehow up, and one of Smiths new abilities is to overwrite the sourcecode of a brain/ programm. (Which, made him ironically what he hates mostly: A Virus.)

Now in reloaded he says, his purpose was taken by Neo. The machines wanted to erase him, but he refused to listen. Now his new purpose seems to be to take Neo's.

But the real problem is: Smith is now the factos that has never been there before. (In the first 5 Matrixversions). This leads to a third interest, which may also destroy the machines world, as the human beings. Which is the reason, why Neo now has a real chance in truly save the world, by making negotiations with the architect. Because Neo ist the only one, who can stop Smith from conquer the matrix, and so all pluged in human beings.


But you're question is a good one. Does Neo overwriote some bytes of his code to other codes? Does something of him influences Trinity, after saving her live, in "operating" in the Matrix? We'll see tomorrow...
