As I understand there are two sides to choose from... the Zionists (who want to break the Matrix down) and the guys who want to hold the Matrix online... I think that if I chose the side of the Zionists, then I would want to stop the Matrix, and stop the game... (or maybe I just don't understand what their point is) ... I would try to keep the Matrix up and running till the REAL world is rebuild... So I would choose the side of the guys that want to keep the matrix online...

Well then I have to disappoint you, you will not be able to play as an agent...as I said before :
There are 2 groups you can join (and those groups are devided into different clans) ALL players have a beginning-story with taking the red pill, so they (the players) are aware of the matrix, machines and agents... from taking the red pill you choose to join either the ''Zionists'' or the ''Matrix-alliance''

The 1st group (''Zionists'') :
Are people who will try to break the matrix down and let human kind take over Mother Earth and release theirselves from the chains of the machines.

The 2nd group (''The Matrix alliance'' [or something like that]) :
Are people who want to remain in the Matrix because they see how badly damaged the earth is.

However, there is a rumor (even on the main-site www.matrixonline.com) that you are going to be able to be the one, if that is true I don't know...

(All this information is gathered from articles from different sites and information from the main MatrixOnline site, this information is NOT 100% accurat, but it get's real close, trust me!!! If you don't believe me, read the articles from my first post on this topic!)


But that isn't why I started this topic, I was trying to start a gathering of MORE information on the game, like articles, screenshots, new facts and/or rumors...

The game looks good, sounds good... But is it as good in performance? We'll have to find out...

I hope I get into beta, and even if I dont, I'll still dish out the money to buy it. I think it would be nice to have them do it like they did on SWG, where, theres a normal edition, and a collectors edition with a lot of extra junk. Knowing me, and my spontaneous ways, I'd buy the collectors one, and just keep buying them.

I only wonder when they are going to update www.matrixonline.com ...cuz the site hasn't changed for months :-(

I also see TMO as continuing the storyline where Revolutions leaves off. After all, after the Revolution, the Matrix goes online...

What I don't understand is, if the Wachowski's truly wanted to promote continuing the storyline through TMO:

* Why wasn't there a trailer for TMO after the credits at the end of Revolutions in the theaters?

* Why haven't the developers at Monolith Productions updated the TMO website in months, especially on November 5th when Revolutions was released and excitement for the storyline is at a fever pitch? (Hey Monolith, hire someone with an MBA in Marketing like myself so this game is marketed properly!)

I agree, some people don't even know that there IS in fact a Matrix Online in development...

It's a ****ty situation

But then again, it WILL come out, becuz :
- They've spend years on developing to where they are now
- Imagine the budget that is already spend on it
- The brothers are definetely busy on the MatrixOnline project, because they wrote the storyline (WHICH WILL BE IN THERE!!!)
- There was a promo on the E3

The Matrix Online
The Matrix Online has been announced for release sometime in 2004. Published through the combined efforts of Warner Brothers, Ubi-Soft, and Monolith Productions, The Matrix plans to introduce the use of "Bullet Time slow interactive game play" in conjunction with it's "dozens of weapons and martial arts maneuvers".

Storyline, and plots for the MMORPG are being designed by the creators of "The Matrix" movie trilogy and pick up where the final "Matrix Revolutions" movie, due for release in November 2003, leaves off. Players will enter the game by logging/boarding into a hovercraft "at broadcast depth". From there you can explore the "enormous urban sprawl" and follow the storylines and ongoing conflict with lethal agents. Not much information is being released yet in regards to the game play specifics, but one interesting feature is "Matrix abilities" that players can exchange like trading cards. MMORPG.Net will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Well, I just submitted my email address. Does anyone know whether beta-testers are also avaible abroad (non-USA), ergo do us Europeans have a chance?

I don't know, there hasn't been any feedback from TMO...
