for starters, i'd like to announce that i'm knew here and this site rocks! ok, in the matrix reloaded, the fight scene when Neo takes on a 100 agents smiths, he seems to be having slim to no problems taking them on. but, in the matrix revolutions commercial i saw, he can't take one agent smith on....what's up with that? did mr. smith get a hugh upgrade er somthing?

i think that this is a very valid question, and there are several answers.

1) it has been determined that Smith and Neo are like Ying and Yang. As one grows more powerful, so does the other. So as a result one technically cannot be better than the other unless another factor comes into play.

2) if you notice in the 100 smiths fight, although neo does "beat" the agents, none of them actually get injured. sure they go flying through the air and smash into walls but the next second their back up and fighting. If you watch the revolutions trailer with neo fighting smith, neo is, for the most part, beating the living hell out of smith right up to the flying scene.

3) emotions play a huge part as well, it is said that love or perhaps hope could be the winning factors for neo in the end. But diffrent emotions spike diffrent levels of hope. when one person is feeling perticularly strong about something whether it be greed or hate or love, their power does increase, in this way it comes down to the final moment of who wants it more, that i think will be the climax of the final movie.

i hope this helps

where can i find this trailer?
HomoUniversalis

PLUS it wouldn't be much of a movie if Neo could just whoop everyones @$$...
there has to be some form of competition!
