Little loophole in Cypher's motivations

WildCard

Remember when he was talking to Smith, saying he wants to be in and eat good tasting food and whatever else he cried about?

Heck, he could have just went into the contruct and had a restaurant simulated, made himself a steak or whatever else. Do this anytime he was jonesing for something, come out of the construct refreshed and ready to battle.

Maybe they didn't have tastes programmable, maybe that's the hole to my loophole... hmm.

To the people saying they couldn't create a simulation like this, I disagree, given how Mouse said he could set Neo up with the Lady in Red if he wanted. :)

Hey there. I'm new here, and maybe it's all been discussed before, but on this question, how is it that Cypher jacked himself into the Matrix all by himself without any operator to pull him out, or someone to unplug his head afterwards? I suppose he could have had a pre-programmed phone call from the ship to a hard-line, but it's hardly been addressed. And the head-plug seems kind of hard to remove by yourself...
Araxis

Apoc and Switch, the operators, were there to jack him out. After that, Cypher picks up the gun and shoots 'em.
Araxis

But then you wonder, who jacked him in when he went to visit the Agent? Any operator who would put him in, would have also read the Matrix code and realized that Cypher was talking to an Agent. They would have known something is up.

Any ideas as to how this happened?

Yeah, I think you're getting my point. What was he doing jacked in in the first place? I suspect that even amongst the trusted members of the ship, you still can't just go jacking into the Matrix by yourself without raising some suspicion?
Dadumafugu

I've no doubt that they plugged into the construct for recreation (just listen to Mouse's offer). But I think the point is he didn't want to REMEMBER anything. Sure, they can jack into a simulation of their fantasies, but they will still carry the knowledge that it is just an illusion. Cypher didn't just want to be blissful, he wanted to be blissfully IGNORANT.
Irkjuzuga

oh, he wanted to be a filmstar or something.
and ready to buy all that whit a big price.

You guys are looking beyond the point and the true significance of this matter..

The point is he cashed out the worst of the crew. And he did it with style points.

In my opinoin, heres what i think happened

Cypher's basically the Graveyard shift of watching the Matrix program, as shown in M1 when Neo crept up on Cypher
" WHOA! You scared the bejesus out of me! "

He could of contacted the Smith through the codes while everyone was asleep, so when he did go in it would already be prepared between the 2 that there conversation was non existent.

Or Cypher could of given Smith codes to a small program to have there conversation.

You're talking about the "what" and the "how" which has been covered elsewhere. The post was about "why".

Thanks Daduma:

I think you hit it on the head when you answered my question with:

Cypher didn't just want to be blissful, he wanted to be blissfully IGNORANT.

You're right. I think he said 'I want to remember nothing. NOTHING.'

Thanks for your help all!
